Pros & Cons

  • realistic planes and environments, multiplayer is great co, great graphics, very cool flying game, great graphics and sound
  • some frame, lacks any real depth, dubious plot, far too easy, insufficient wingmen commands
  • SR-71 USAF base (Kadena, Japan) The setting is 2012. As the era of the nation-state draws quickly to a close, the rules of warfare evolve even more rapidly. More and more nations become increasingly dependent on Private Military Companies (PMCs) – elite mercenaries with a lax view of the law. The Reykjavik Accords further legitimize their existence by authorizing their right to serve in every aspect of military operations. There goes the neighborhood… Tom Clancy’s H…

2 Comments You can forget the silly bird-related acronym in the title. You can even forget the fact that the Clancy hive-mind has its name bolted to the front. To all intents and purposes this is Top Gun the game. Thankfully, that's pretty much all we want from a modern air combat game. Read more

A good move to the skies for Tom - but it's far from a turbulence-free flight. Read more

HAWX does what it does admirably in most cases. It provides an enjoyable and entertaining diversion in a rarely explored genre with just enough content to keep gamers with friends busy. It certainly isn't a phenomenon and won't set the world on fire, but it is a well rounded experience that lovers of Clancy military jargon will definitely want to try. Read more

The name is already associated with squad based combat, stealth and real time strategy, and now Tom Clancy has been slapped onto some good old fashioned aerial warfare in the form of H.A.W.X. If you're curious it stands for High Altitude Warfare eXperimental squadron, and if you can look past the silly title you could be in for a surprise. Read more

Air Force One is in trouble. Besieged by numerous trigger-happy mercenaries, the flying residence of the US President radios for help. High above the smoking ruins of Washington DC, you and your state-of-the-art fighter squadron are the only friendly reinforcements within range. Despite running dangerously low on anti-aircraft missiles, you angle your aeroplane towards the horizon and step hard on the accelerator, answering the desperate call for assistance. “You take... I really enjoyed this game, it has a lot of different plane's / weapons and is a lot of fun, the only bad thing about it is so short, took just over 5 hours on elite setting to complete. Read more

Fun: This review is from: Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. (Xbox 360) (Video Game) Ok, first off I wouldent pay for this, but seeing as its let than , it's well worth it. The sp missions are brilliatn, both the story, gameplay and just the general "tom clancy" feel of the game all complement each other. Although not the longest game its well worth the money and gave me many enjyable hours. Would defintly reccoment it!! Read more

I had been meaning to buy this title for a while before I actually did. I found this on sale for $20 on Amazon and was an instant sale. When I first began play, I'm thinking to myself "Wow $20 what a steal!" Getting further in the game this thought changed to "Oh, I see why." This could have been an amazing title in my view without a doubt. One small attribute changed all of this - Assist Mode OFF. Assist Mode OFF is a mode you'll need to fly in as you advance in the...
