The Shivering Isles is a truly awesome expansion to an already addictive game. It's certainly a great reason to re-visit the world of the Elder Scrolls and won't disappoint fans of Oblivion. With new weapons, enemies, spells, environments, quests, and a story that makes the Knights of the Nine seem like child's play, the Shivering Isles really delivers on the promise of a great expansion pack. It would have been nice if Bethesda had added a bit more value for the money,... Read more

While the 2400 MS point price is a bit on the high side, the content manages to provide more swashbuckling, looting and questing for those who couldn’t get enough from the retail release. Read more

A console with a hard drive is like a wheelchair with a jet engine. Sure, the Xbox 360 may not have the largest of drives, but it’s certainly more than capable of handling hefty expansions – an aspect of console games now implemented with ease. Bethesda ploughed ahead and created the first “official” expansion to their role-playing masterpiece Oblivion , entitled Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles . Adding dozens of hours of gameplay and weighing in at 994MB and... Read more

Part of me wants to go on about particular quests, all the cool new textures, the way that caves are now tree root systems and how the Oblivion Gates are replaced by Obelisks of Order – but all of the fun comes from discovering these things yourself and from coming to realise that both dementia and mania are just two sides of the same coin. Buy it, play it, love it – I did. And if you loved Oblivion you'll love exploring The Shivering Isles. Just one little tip: if... Read more

This won’t convert anyone but if you enjoyed Oblivion then buying this is an easy choice. The world is interesting and fun but never as mad and crazy as it could have been which is a missed chance at doing something very special indeed. But whilst you’re there you will enjoy yourself and this is easily worth the money for the excellent main quest alone. Oh and don’t forget the Calming Pants. Very important. Read more

Finally got the expansion pack thanks to a buddy and I seem to spend all my off-time in the Shivering Isles. As addicting as the original game, but with more challenging creatures to beat and new objects to find/collect/use. I've just started, and the missions seem a little sparse, but then again, I have not scoped the entire isles. The missions do seem to take on a darker side and things are definitely more crazy than before! Big recommendation for your Fantasy... Read more

The only con that I have, is that I had to learn a new cloning technique. Man! I was unprepared for the visually different look of the Isles! Talk about mind-blowing differences between these places and the rest of the lands of the morrowind! I had heard that it was worth it, but had to wait for retail, before I could purchase it. I'm glad that I waited. Read more
