Namco also promise newcomers and a guest character, similar to Spawn, Link and Heihachi from the console versions of Soul Calibur 2. If you're still not satisfied, Soul Calibur 3's customisation mode is back with more of everything you'll need to build your own fighters. Character creation aside, Soul Calibur 3 was the series' sole misstep, looking slightly dated on the PS2 and featuring a raft of overpowered characters. I'm not a massive fan of fighting games in general and Soul Calibur 5 certainly wasn't the game that turned me. The game offers a weak, forgettable story that will do nothing to captivate you. Besides that, lightsabering is inevitably a riot. XBOX LIVE play makes... Read more

It's not exactly pick up and play, it definitely helps to learn all the combos you can. The game's pretty fun in single player, very fun in multiplayer, BUT, online is a bit of a shambles. Most people you enter a game with will quit, meaning you have to start again. Now maybe i'm just bad at it, but it seems to me that it was near impossible to win. I expect it's because only the good players stick around for long online. I didn't much care for character creation, i'll... Read more
