Bioware has finally graced us with the eagerly awaited sequel to Mass Effect. From the beginning the team at Bioware always said that the Mass Effect universe would form part of a trilogy (however they haven't ruled out going beyond three games). What this sequel has accomplished goes far beyond the scope of the first game. Read more
I just hope that BioWare remake the first game with the combat from the second, so I can force people to play it without having to say “oh, er, but the first one has aged really badly in comparison, sorry”. Read more
I was going to open up with a typical, “Does the sequel match up to the original? Find out NOW!” but thought, that’s a bit ridiculous because Mass Effect 2 is AMAZING. Read more
So I rocked up back into the Citadel, ready for my hero’s welcome. I had, after all, vanquished that pesky Saren and brushed aside the Reaper threat. The council didn’t make it, but they were gits anyway, so I thought I’d see how my old buddy Anderson was getting along as head of the new council. Boy, was I in for a surprise… The conversation went roughly like this; Anderson: “I hate my job.” Shepherd: “You’re welcome.” Anderson: “Wanna be a Spectre... Read more
Just completed this and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it's the best video game I have ever played. Not being a hardcore gamer I wasn't sure whether something this revered would be the game for me (being very much a pick up and play type of chap) but this had me hooked form the instant it started up.I got about 65 hours out of it, knowing full well that when I elected to go past the point of no return (this will make sense once you've played it) that I could... Summary: Good game, but it didn't grip me like Bioware games usually do. I was disappointed overall. Read more
Fun: This review is from: Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360) (Video Game) Bioware did it again. Mass Effect was a pretty deep, variational and refined game, but the sequel just blows the roof off. There are very few aspects to this game that aren't excellent or almost perfect. It's one of the best games ever released. The graphics are well over the standard level of graphics for games in 2009/2010. The gameplay is involving and refined. The music and sounds are never out of place... Read more
At the time of writing this review I will go so far as to say that Mass Effect 2 is the finest 3rd person shooter ever made. The mechanics of combat set a new bar for AI and strategic combat engagement. And like Mass Effect 1 the story absolutely delivers, there is wealth of characters and plot lines that create a unprecendented level of immerssion. The graphics are absolutely beautiful, from the environments to the character textures everything looks and sounds just... Read more
