Why a game that's played predominantly with your hands is called 'football' has always baffled us, but that hasn't hindered the Madden franchise one bit. Blitzing consoles since 1988 with all-out gridiron mayhem, it's not always hit the mark (think 2006), but this year's update is definitely a hit. Read more

Those that have turned their back after the relatively poor showing of the previous titles can safely return and for those NFL fans that have yet to try this franchise, then you could not have hoped for a better introduction. Although for those that have no idea about NFL and haven't seen a game before, then either start watching (Five and Sky Sports cover the televised games in the UK) or try before you buy. Surprised by a lot of peoples opinions on this game, as i never played 08 apart from the DLC from xbox live i cant compare it to last years release, but i found the game challenging, and picked up the rules real quick compared to any other NFL game... everything was fine, a few minor scratches on the disk, but works. Came in a blank case with no art work, so that was disappointing and unexpected considering it was not disclosed. Other than that, it was a good purchase. Read more

Fun: The latest instalment is given a Fifa 08 style revamp, which i cant help but like, much more sleek, and giving it that Premier sports game look, which the Madden range deserves. As a Brit I don't get to watch NFL games very often so buying this game was quite risky for me, I wanted a sports game that kept me entertained for weeks yet wanted a game which wasn't too pricey too.
