List All 12 PricesAs you play Bionic Commando, you'll be frequently struck by all the unexplored possibilities and how often the words "if only" cross your mind. "This area would be fun to explore, if only radiation didn't stop me dead in my tracks." "That firefight could be terrific, if only the weapons had oomph." "This seems like an interesting world, if only the main character gave me a reason to care." The bionic arm is a great idea that leads to some enjoyable moments, but it's not... Read more
Ultimately, Bionic Commando should really be applauded for trying something new. It would have been very easy for both Capcom and GRIN to turn the 8-bit series into another samey run of the mill third-person shooter that plagues the market at the moment. Instead they went for something a bit different, and something that honours the roots of the Bionic Commando series. However, even these best intentions cannot hide the fact the game never consistently hits the epic... Read more
Although Bionic Commando is essentially a brand new game, you may well have heard of it before. The title is a 'homage' to its 8-bit namesake released on the NES back in 1988. This shiny new version features Nathan Spencer (voiced by former lead singer of Faith No More, Mike Patton), a government operative who represents the ultimate fusion of man and machine. Think of him as a tooled up Inspector Gadget mixed with a web's worth of Spider-Man's arachnid habits and you're... Read more
Oh, Bionic Commando, what has GRIN done to you? We miss the old ginger superhero with a knack for cheesy one-liners. Now you're a world-weary convict with dreadlocks and a bad temper. Read more
Bionic Commando, like its protagonist Nathan Spencer, is something rather average given a boost by incorporating parts from other things. Swinging across gaps with grapple hooks is nothing new - nor is shooting at soldiers or throwing heavy objects at robot sentries - but when all these fun things are put together in one mixing bowl it makes for a cake worth eating. Fun: I've been an FPS fan for as long as they've been about, and I bought this when it first came out (following on from some pretty decent reviews). It's a lot of fun, and I don't buy into this stuff that it's not like this or that - it's fun, and at times very silly. But, it's mainly a great romp. There are the usual odd bits and pieces where the weapons seem a little inappropriate, but from start to finish I enjoyed it. Great fun. Don't need to be too anal about any... Read more
What a waste of a legendary character, the game is mediocre at best. It has its moments but every level is pretty much the same. This is probably the dumbest ending to a story line since the Sopranos. If you must buy this is defiantly a $10.00 game. Read more
You should be seeing this on shelves for $20 or less (especially with the holiday). The game becomes more attractive at that price. There is a very "boxed in" and even plain "cheap" feel with the radiation areas that kill you, and the enemies at least look repetitive if only to get smarter during the 2nd part of the game. But it's still above average. I've had the best time playing it and Conan (2007, also a budget title) this past weekend while snowed in! Read more
