Wii Fit

Wii Fit is a combination of fitness and fun in one product. It is designed for everyone, be it young or old. It is designed to help you work towards personal goals of better health and fitness by changing how you exercise, how you balance and even how you move.

Features

The Wii Fit comprises of body test and training. The body test in Wii Fit is a short and simple set of activities used to gauge your body’s performance. After choosing Mii, a virtual caricature unique to Wii, to represent you, the Wii Balance Board is used to measure your center of balance, Body Mass Index (BMI) and body control. These results determine your Wii Fit age. The body test also allows you to track your progress by stamping the calendar everytime you complete the body test. You can also set a BMI goal for some point in the future which can be customized to fit your schedule. The Wii Fit comes with four training modes, namely yoga to tone muscles and improve posture, balance games to help develop your sense of balance, strength training to build and tone muscles, and aerobics to help tone your body. Training features include a 3D demo which gives you a 3D model of your chosen exercise as performed by a virtual trainer. Besides that, you will also gain important feedback on your performance during and after the Wii training activities. Additional features include a favourites section which allows you to select from a list of 10 activities you choose most often, varying between each different user, as well as a Wii Fit Bank which stores all the Fit credits you earn during your training in order for more activities to be available to you.

We can hear people shouting "Why not just do some proper exercise?" already, and Wii Fit certainly isn’t going to replace going for a real run, or getting into the gym for a serious weights session, or doing a real Yoga or Pilates class. However, many people don’t do any of these things in the first place and unlike many other exercise tools (think teleshopping…. Shudder….), there’s a high chance that it will end up being used regularly, because it is actually... Read more

Not content with giving your brain a jolly good work out on the DS with Dr Kawishima's Brain Training Nintendo have waged war on the global obesity epidemic with Wii Fit, a full alternative to that gym membership you signed up for in January, complete with an innovative new accessory - the balance board - to get you into shape. It's a bold move indeed, promising to help out with the world's health via a medium that many claim have contributed to its problems in the first... Read more

Our brief play last year and again this year for Megawhat.tv, the Wii Fit had us aching for more. Now that we've had it in our house and we can say that the fun just kept on coming, entertaining a number of people of all ages at a birthday party as well as in the evening on our own. This isn't a one to appeal to the hardcore gamer looking to let off some steam, and we can imagine that after a while the quick games and poor graphics will get on your nerves just as Brain... The board and games are brilliant, great idea with all the fitness however, here comes the negative bit... ...wait for Amazon to get it in stock, don't be in such a rush to get it. The unit retails for just under £70, not the £100+ that some people have it advertised for!! Look around or wait for Amazon to get it in, don't let some cheeky Market Place seller fleece you!
