Wii Fit

Wii Fit is a combination of fitness and fun in one product. It is designed for everyone, be it young or old. It is designed to help you work towards personal goals of better health and fitness by changing how you exercise, how you balance and even how you move.

Features

The Wii Fit comprises of body test and training. The body test in Wii Fit is a short and simple set of activities used to gauge your body’s performance. After choosing Mii, a virtual caricature unique to Wii, to represent you, the Wii Balance Board is used to measure your center of balance, Body Mass Index (BMI) and body control. These results determine your Wii Fit age. The body test also allows you to track your progress by stamping the calendar everytime you complete the body test. You can also set a BMI goal for some point in the future which can be customized to fit your schedule. The Wii Fit comes with four training modes, namely yoga to tone muscles and improve posture, balance games to help develop your sense of balance, strength training to build and tone muscles, and aerobics to help tone your body. Training features include a 3D demo which gives you a 3D model of your chosen exercise as performed by a virtual trainer. Besides that, you will also gain important feedback on your performance during and after the Wii training activities. Additional features include a favourites section which allows you to select from a list of 10 activities you choose most often, varying between each different user, as well as a Wii Fit Bank which stores all the Fit credits you earn during your training in order for more activities to be available to you.

We can hear people shouting "Why not just do some proper exercise?" already, and Wii Fit certainly isn’t going to replace going for a real run, or getting into the gym for a serious weights session, or doing a real Yoga or Pilates class. However, many people don’t do any of these things in the first place and unlike many other exercise tools (think teleshopping…. Shudder….), there’s a high chance that it will end up being used regularly, because it is actually... Read more

So long as you don't get discouraged by the BMI scores, have a sensible weight loss in mind and stick to doing 20 or so minutes 3 or 4 times a week, you'll enjoy Wii Fit and all it has to offer. You will certainly feel the difference in your overall fitness, and your well-being will increase in harmony. As a way of incentivizing your exercise or providing you with some activities you can do in a small space, Wii Fit does a great job. Read more

My husband bought this for my birthday, I'm 36 and a bit on the chunky side. I love it, I noticed a difference in myself after only a week of using it. The instructor is encouraging and it makes you feel good to beat your own record. The balance games are really fun and I love the yoga. I have a joint condition and the vast majority of exercises are easy on my joints, although at first on a couple of the muscle exercises my knees got a twinge, I found I could still... Read more

We originally bought this to take advantage of the Wii Fit (which we use 30-45 minutes/day each), but the games that came along with the bundle were so much fun that our use has expanded to an extra 30-60 minutes a day - more if the grandchildren come over. Read more

the only thing i don't like is that it doesn't take a women's water weight gain into consideration. It asked me why I gained weight, i know why but they didn't have my option. I wonder if the Wii Fit Plus has it? Otherwise, this is so much fun. You don't feel like your exercising. Read more
