Wii Fit is a combination of fitness and fun in one product. It is designed for everyone, be it young or old. It is designed to help you work towards personal goals of better health and fitness by changing how you exercise, how you balance and even how you move.
The Wii Fit comprises of body test and training. The body test in Wii Fit is a short and simple set of activities used to gauge your body’s performance. After choosing Mii, a virtual caricature unique to Wii, to represent you, the Wii Balance Board is used to measure your center of balance, Body Mass Index (BMI) and body control. These results determine your Wii Fit age. The body test also allows you to track your progress by stamping the calendar everytime you complete the body test. You can also set a BMI goal for some point in the future which can be customized to fit your schedule. The Wii Fit comes with four training modes, namely yoga to tone muscles and improve posture, balance games to help develop your sense of balance, strength training to build and tone muscles, and aerobics to help tone your body. Training features include a 3D demo which gives you a 3D model of your chosen exercise as performed by a virtual trainer. Besides that, you will also gain important feedback on your performance during and after the Wii training activities. Additional features include a favourites section which allows you to select from a list of 10 activities you choose most often, varying between each different user, as well as a Wii Fit Bank which stores all the Fit credits you earn during your training in order for more activities to be available to you.
So, there you have it. It's a good motivator (being ranked as 'Couch Potato' will get you clicking 'Retry' every time) and as well as lots of fun exercises, there is a built in scale and BMI checker. What more could you ask for? Well, being able to buy one probably but when you do get it, I'm sure you'll think it was worth the wait. Now, after all this exercise, I think I deserve a biscuit... In spite of that, it’s still one of the better ways of trying to get in shape from the comfort of your own home, and regardless of how unscientific some of its ideas are the game at the core is entertaining. But remember, it’s still just a mini-game compilation, and as a result it is something that is quite easy to get bored with after frequent play. Read more
B.M.I is a recognised form of “classifying” body types so when Wii Fit tells you that, at 10 stone and aged 25 you are at the average expected level of weight/health, it’s accurate. The problem with measuring BMI is that muscle and fat cannot be differentiated. This can rear it’s ugly head when a 30yr old muscle man can be deemed obese. Not a pretty sight. The good thing is that most health professionals know that B.M.I measurements are best used as a guideline. The b... Read more

When judging Wii Fit overall, you're very conscious of the fact that it doesn't achieve anything for its users that couldn't be managed with a little willpower. Worse still, the most entertaining 'games' in the package are the ones that improve balance rather than promote weight loss or muscle tone, which potentially damage its 'good for you' fun credentials further. With that said, it's true that any exercise is better than nothing, and spending some of your usual so... Read more
Well, if you haven't heard all about Wii Fit by now you probably live on Mars, but nothing you hear actually prepares you for the reality of it! As others have stated, to call this a 'game' is an insult, although it has a fun element it is a serious bit of keep-fit kit! The balance board is far sturdier than I thought it would be, and although the four AA batteries it requires are included, I would recommend treating yourself to a set of rechargeables - you will be us... This is a fun way to get up off the couch and get a bit active. Though there is no way this should be mistaken for proper exercise. I was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy of the weight measures. Nice feature is that the game keeps track of your progress. Overall, it is a fun game. Read more
The board and games are brilliant, great idea with all the fitness however, here comes the negative bit... ...wait for Amazon to get it in stock, don't be in such a rush to get it. The unit retails for just under £70, not the £100+ that some people have it advertised for!! Look around or wait for Amazon to get it in, don't let some cheeky Market Place seller fleece you!
