Review Summary

The story of Resident Evil 4 is about Leon Kennedy in his search for the president’s daughter in a village overrun with mad farmers and cult leaders. Graphically, the game looks almost the same as its previous series. The main focus of this game is on shooting. To shoot the enemy, you just have to aim the Wii remote at the enemy and pull the trigger to blow their heads off. For a fast and quick reload, just shake the Wii remote while aiming, this is also accompanied by a nice reloading sound effect coming from the remote’s speaker. Just shaking the remote you can lash out with your knife. Resident Evil 4 excells in differentiating the core structure of the original Resident Evil and rebuilding it in such a way to please and appeal to most gamers. The hunt for ammo is now no longer a problem, unlike previous games. Enemies drop down as they die and they can be easily spotted by the enormous glowing light that shines from them. In Resident Evil 4 you have a better control over your central character. Most reviewers find that Resident Evil 4 is not only a fantastic game but one of the best games of the last generation. However they would have appreciated a few extra play modes. If you haven’t experienced any of the Resident Evil series, you won’t be disappointed with this one.

Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition is one of the highest rated games on GameRankings.com and Metacritic.com, garnering dozens of awards and nominations. The game has been highly praised for its amazing gameplay and incredible, drastic re-invention of the 'survival-horror' genre. This celebrated game now comes to the Wii with added Wii Remote support, allowing players to aim, fire, slash, reload, crank and avoid oncoming adversaries with intuitive motions and movements. Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition This is without question the definitive version of Resident Evil 4 and is more than enough reason enough to pick up a Wii if you have never experienced its ghoulish charms before. The new control scheme is nigh- on perfect and the game as a whole hasn't lost an inch in the two years since its release.. In fact, the only reason it's not getting a perfect score is because of the fact that it's now two years old and not quite as groundbreakin... Read more

Since it's only £25, you might as well take a punt if you haven't already played it. It's just a shame that one of the best ever action games has become another casualty of the Wii controller. Indeed, for a controller that was supposed to herald a new dawn of inclusive gaming there are a lot of third-party publishers who have yet to get their heads round it. Presumably, when they decided to create a Wii version of Resident Evil 4, Capcom envisaged an even more inclusi... Read more

When Resident Evil 4 was released on the Nintendo GameCube in 2005, it wowed critics and players alike with its sensational reinvention of the survival horror genre. The superb graphics and tight controls made Resident Evil 4 one of the most praised games of all time. Now it's set for a comeback on Wii, bringing you closer to the horror than ever before... Leon S. Kennedy, formerly Raccoon City Police Department's idealistic rookie cop, is now a U.S. agent with a top-... Read more

By this point, you've probably already glanced at the score and noticed that, despite our positive comments at returning to the world of survival horror, it’s still a point less than we gave the GC original. The answer is simple: it doesn't give us anything new. RE4 is still a fantastic game and one of the best games of the last generation, but a few extra play modes wouldn't have gone amiss. Still, if you missed out on the horror the first time then this is the perfe... Read more

Bought this game as i was told its the best on the wii to date and was not disappointed at all. The game play, graphics and general level of fun you get from playing this game is fantastic. Now i have completed the game im looking for something equally as good to match the standards but can say it will be a hard task doing so. If you haven't already, go out and buy this game!!! This has to be one of the best action games I have ever played (I have played a few!). Basics of the storyline are that Leon Kennedy has been sent to Europe to rescue the president's kidnapped daughter, taking the setting away from Racoon City and the game replaces zombies with crazy villagers, who will attack you (excellent graphics and really intense). The whole game is set at a really fast pace and feels quite archadey which I find really effective. Finally coupled... Read more
