Compared to previous Sims games, MySims has a more anime look for the character designs. The game is known for having colorful graphics, cheery, and fun gameplay.
The game begins with the player character moving into a run-down town. The player’s objective in this game is then to attract business and townspeople back into town. Players build houses and furniture and gains special decorations, more houses and furniture plans, as well as fashion outfits for their Sim. With player’s success, the town will be bustling with citizens again. Apart from creating custom characters, players can modify their houses and build furniture and appliances using building blocks. This feature allows player more building options by allowing players to create objects using blueprints. In the Wii version, there are 80 non-player characters that the player can interact with. These include characters like a mad scientist, librarian, magician, martial arts teacher, and pizza chef. Some characters may ask player to build things for them. Meeting people and forming relationship plays a major role in the game. As relationship develops, players will receive new blueprints or a new outfit to wear. Apart from relationship, players can also earn these by performing tasks for commercial characters. A new feature introduced for MySims in Essences that can be found in various locations or by interacting with other Sims. Essences can be used for a number of tasks such as painting walls, decorating, and construction of items. In addition, there are also several mini-games including water-skiing, baking, and racquetball.
MySims opens on a town that is almost in ruins. You will have to rebuild the town to attract new characters. You will be given the pieces required to build your workshop and your home. Construction is simple, based on a diverse collection of prefab boxes and bric-a-brac that you can drag about using the Wii Remote. When you pick up a piece of flair for your structure, blue dots will appear wherever they can actually be placed. There are several different-themed sets of building blocks you can choose from, however the game will show first pieces that are most appropriate for the structure you’re building. Building furniture is easy, as the game highlights the pieces you need in green, and grabbed pieces will snap into position when you get them close enough with the Wii Remote. The sim sex is neutral, so you can mix male and female hairstyles, eyes, mouths, and outfits as you think correct. Reviewers find that even though the visuals are simple, they are quite impressive. The game looks sunny in a playful visual style that opens a suite of cheerful, location-specific tunes. MySims is about charmingly blocky characters who live in a similarly blocky town, making it more like a doll house than a game.

EA has taken several sim genres and molded them into one extremely charming game. Barring a few options we'd have liked to see, it's a perfect second life experience. Read more
Ultimately, MySims represents an interesting alternative to both EA’s Sims series and the aforementioned Animal Crossing. It’s far from perfect and one can safely assume that EA will be publishing plenty more variants in order to fine-tune the concept, but it has plenty to offer in terms of entertainment and innovation. Younger players will undoubtedly warm to its charms faster than older ones, but MySims further extends the appeal of the Wii as a console for... Read more

MySims (Wii) Very easy game to play. The characters are cartoon type. Takes a while to load between each level. When you have completed the game, the next time is can be different if you move in different characters. I completed in 48 hours and sold it on. It is the least interesting Sims game i have played to date Read more
Coolest game i played on Wii. It is simple the first time you play it and it stays simple when you continue playing Read more
This title is mostly geared for children. It feels very much like the Lego gaming franchise, which I really enjoy. I found Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon on the GameCube more appealing with more variety. Thankfully these titles still play on the Wii. The issue I have with My Sims is that your only goals are limited to constructing objects and collecting essences. This game is streamlined in that Sim management and the social aspects of previous Sim titles are missing. Read more
I am really angry that I spent money on this product. I loved the original computer version and expected this to be the same, but unfortunately it is nothing like the original. The graphics are characters are sickeningly cutesy and the game itself is really difficult to navigate. The user has to point to objects and put them in certain places (as ordered to do by the obnoxious "mayor" character), but it is impossible to get them in the right places. Trying to "build"... My sims was the first game I've ever gotten for the wii (besides wii sports with came with my wii). Before I bought it I did play it at my cousins house and I couldn't put the wii remotes down! It was so fun to play- The characters are adorable, you get to build an old town to its former glory, and make many cool things out of your workshop. You move into a rundown town consisting of a town hall, a flower shop, a hotel, and two town houses. The objective of the game is... Read more
