Iron Man won’t change the Movie game genre any time soon but, for a game based on running round and killing everything I did enjoy playing it. Not as much as playing Smash Bros Brawl or Space Invaders Extreme but enough to keep my interest till the end. Fans of the series should rent this and have some fun, and others could try it out if found in the bargain bin. Be warned though gentle gamer, this really is just ‘kill what moves’ kind of game, if you’re looking... Read more

To complement the film’s release, Sega have brought Iron Man to all the current gen consoles, including Nintendo Wii. As is expected these days, most movie tie-in games are either average or just totally rubbish. But back in 2004, we were all surprised with Spiderman 2, which to this day is still one of the best games based on a film available. So is Iron Man worthy of your hard earned cash, or should it be exiled to the dark depths of the bargain bin? Read more

The success of the Iron Man movie (starring Robert Downey Jnr. And directed by Jon Favreau) was largely down to the fact they brought a wry sense of humour and believability to proceedings. So it's extremely disappointing that the video game adaptation is so flat, lacking any spark from Downey (who provides the voice) and leaving us with a rather basic fly-and-shoot scenario that has a 90's stink about it. "Life is a blast, survival is the game," he says. Well Mr Iron Man, we’ll have to agree with you there: surviving more than half an hour with your game is definitely a struggle. Why is it that whenever a smash-hit movie comes out there’s an abundance of interest in the videogame counterpart? When was the last genuinely good movie tie-in, apart from the N64’s GoldenEye of course? And yet with every movie, even we manage to get our hopes up slightly. They always make... Read more

Iron Man is playable but that’s the only accolade that can be said for it. Why anyone would want to play it is a completely different matter. The graphics are horrible, the music is awful and the levels are tired and repetitive. If you fancy taking control of a powerless, weightless superhero in the most clichéd game of the year then you couldn’t do better than Iron Man. Read more
