Game Party

Game Party is a collection of classic skill games developed by FarSight Studios. The game is published by Midway Games exclusively for Nintendo Wii and retailed as a budget title. The game was released on November 27, 2007 in the US. It was later released on February 14, 2008 in Australia and subsequently on February 15, 2008 in Europe.

Features

Game Party features a collection of recreation room games from around the globe. This includes location from American sport venues and European gathering spots. The player can compete in classic games, modern favorites, and multiplayer trivia contents. The collection comes with seven favorite social games. These include classic games (Darts, Table Hockey, Shuffle Board, and Hoop Shoot) and variations of classic games (Skii Ball, Ping Cup, and Trivia). The games are played similar to their real world counterpart. In Darts, players throw virtual darts at the screen. Similarly, players can control on-screen characters playing Table Hockey in a full 3D view. Being a collection of party games, Game Party is suitable as an electronic replacement for party games. All the included games can be controlled with the WiiRemote using the same motions used in real life such as taking aim and tossing darts at the electronic dartboard or using a bowling motion to throw a virtual ball through the hoop. For player avatars, the game comes with an initial 125 unique characters. Players can further unlock another 50 additional characters. The virtual venues for each game are set appropriate to each activity. For example, player can play darts in a British style restaurant or Hoop Shoot in a sports entertainment center. The game carries an ESRB “E” rating (Everyone) and is suitable for all members of the family at any age. Game Party receives a GameFAQs Rating Average of 4.7 while GameSpot users rated it at 5.4.

    Game Party is one of those games that you will try your best to forget ever existed if you're unfortunate (or indeed stupid) enough to actually play it. All of the elements, from the god-awful controls to the disgusting character design, add up to create a game that no one should experience.     What a waste of money! I agree with all the negative comments above - this game is the worst Wii game I have. I can't believe that they would allow a load of American questions on the trivia bit when this is coming to an English market - that has to be one of the most ridiculous decisions ever made.
