Endless Ocean

In Nintendo / ARIKA’s Endless Ocean, players get to explore the underwater world of the pristine, sun-pierced waters of Manoa Lai which feature a vast and fascinating world of coral reefs, ancient shipwrecks and sunken treasure. Among the things that players can do include finding, identifying and cataloguing hundreds of different types of marine life including penguins, dolphins, sharks, clownfish, and even the mighty blue well. Besides that, players can also become a freelance photographer and sell photographed pictures to travel and science magazines as well as salvage rare and valuable treasures from the ocean floor. Using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, players can dive with friends as well as unlock new gear buy leading guided tours. In addition to that, players can create their own personal soundtrack by inserting the SD card of their MP3 players.

Features

In Endless Ocean, players start off on the shallow reefs of Manoa Lai, on a boat where they can read e-mails, save games, organize photographs, play music, view discovered treasures, pilot the boat as well as see viewing discovered species. The game also allows players to befriend as well as train three pets to perform tricks from the boat. The game has a storyline as well as sets goals for players to accomplish. Although the game revolves mainly around players just diving around the ocean bed, the exploration is almost endless and players can spend hours just wandering around the virtual underwater world. The graphics as well as the music scores for the game go hand in hand and are capable enough to draw players into that virtual world. Features include encyclopedia-style descriptors which are revealed when players interact with underwater sea creatures. The descriptors purely function to educate players on the underwater sea creatures’ species and habits. The more players interact with the creatures, the more they find out about them. All the information learnt from the interaction will be saved into the player’s marine biology encyclopedia. To explore, players simply need to point the Wii Remote in the direction they want to go and hold the B button whereas to examine objects, players have to point at them and press the A button.
