Battalion Wars 2

In Battalion Wars 2, you play as a Battalion commander who can take command and control a myriad of military units on land, air and sea. The Wii Remote and Nunchuk is used to order tropps around the battlefield and the controls change depending on what unit you’re commanding as well as the environment you’re fighting in.

Features

Under Gaining Command of the Land, you play as a soldier. The controls are simple and intuitive; mainly comprising of aiming the Wii Remote and moving with the Control Stick. To perform combat rolls, simply tilt the Nunchuk. You can even command and control the tanks and recon vehicles to help you rule the land. As for Owning the Ocean and Seizing the Seas, you can order a submarine to submerge by shaking the Nunchuk. To rupture hulls when facing an enemy sub, fire a depth charge by controlling a frigate. Under air, you get to experience new controls and new heights. Twist the Wii Remote along with your turns to outmaneuver your opponents. Adjust your altitude by pointing up or down and title the Nunchuk to barrel roll to safety when you feel pressure from incoming enemy fire.

Review Summary

Battalion Wars 2 is as the name suggests a war game with plenty of incredible action. It features a superior single-player battle, as well as online play for owners of Nintendo’s elusive Wii. Battalion Wars 2 depicts the tale of two wars, a previous conflict and an ongoing one. It is about the Xylvanians telling one nation that another nation is building a superweapon, and taking advantage of the turbulent chaos and distraction it has created, to better concentrate on their own superweapon research. To progress in the game is quite simple especially with the Wii’s point-and-click control scheme, you can easily dispatch each unit type to attack what you think is best. You can also play online either together or against friends and strangers. In cooperative missions, you and your companion, each have armies, with the important units divided between each. Battalion Wars 2 features naval units, which are like tanks on the water. You have your battleship, frigates, and submarines. The submarines can dive under water, which make them invisible to battleships, but can be seen by frigates or other subs. The presentation of Battalion Wars 2 is excellent with crisp and clear graphics, the water looks wet. The voice acting, the action, and the sound track are all good. However some reviewers find that the story and the artificial intelligence is too simple.

  • Submarine won't stay submerged! Help, please.

I cannot keep my submarine submerged. When I begin to move it forward, it surfaces. And it isn't clear to me what shake the nunchuck "down" means. Can anyone help? In trying to defend the Anglo shipyards and to attack the enemy battleship, my sub keeps coming to the surface. It never gets deeper than periscope depth anyway -- never out of sight under the water. Thank you!
