Sony ICD-UX80 is a digital voice recorder that is available both black and silver as a selection for the users. It can be plugged into PC and connected via USB. It is compatible with MP3 files.The dimension of the device is 34mm × 99mm x 13 mm and weighs 48g including battery. It possesses built-in flash memory of 2GB in capacity. Recording time depends on the recording mode which users choose out of the five being offered. As for LP and SP modes, they can record for 581 hours and 145 hours respectively while ST mode is capable of recording for 24 hours. STLP mode offers users the recording time up to 96 hours 50 minutes. Users can record for 36 hours 20 minutes in STSP mode. It is equipped with built-in stereo microphone and 10mm inner speaker as well. On its input feature, the device has earphone as well as microphone jack besides USB. The output power sets at 90mW. It is powered by one AAA alkaline battery.

There is also a digital pitch control feature which it enables the recording playback to be heard at an increased or slower speed. With the feature of Voice Operated Recording (VOR), the device automatically begins to record when it detect any sound around. The digital voice recorder that is compact in design does not require any software when it is used with Windows and Macintosh systems. With USB Direct Connection feature, no USB cable is needed to connect the device to any USB port on a computer hub.
