Olympus VN-4100PC

Olympus VN-4100PC is a digital voice recorder that offers the ease of transferring files to PCs with its PC connectivity feature. The recording format of the voice recorder comes in CELP and ADPCM. It possesses built-in flash memory of 256MB. The device that has LCD format with the size of 23mm x 25mm carries 62.9g of weight including batteries. Its dimension sets at 101.6mm x 39.1mm x 19.6mm, excluding protrusions. As the length of time that users are allowed to record depends on recording mode being used, there are four modes which users can choose from, as preferred. Approximately 11 hours 40 minutes of recording time comes with XHQ recording mode. Users can record up to 23 hours 40 minutes if they select HQ mode to be used. SP mode and LP mode provides the recording time of 47 hours 20 minutes and 144 hours 20 minutes, respectively. There are four folder messages that come together with the voice recorder where users can store and organize their recording files. Each of the folders is able to fit in 100 messages. 28mm diameter dynamic internal speaker equips the VN-4100PC, besides microphone as well as earphone jack. To power the device, users can choose to use two AAA alkaline batteries or two AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries. The battery life that alkaline battery offers is up to 25 hours whereas for NiMH battery, it is 15 hours.

With Voice Activation that is featured with the Olympus VN-4100PC, recording is activated only when sound is sensed. In a way, it optimizes the recording time and memory of the device. Slow and Fast Playback modes allow the users to listen to the recordings 25 percent slower or 50 percent faster compared to the original version of it. The LCD screen displays information such as file locations, battery life and recording status. Users can set to begin and end audio recording at specific time with the Timer Recording feature.
