Summary: Have bought other brands of vacuums for the past 30 years, cheap ones and very expensive ones. This time I thought I'd buy the vacuum that I knew from using at a place of work. Not cheap, but still within the budget and not as expensive as the best known brand ( which I have owned 2 and thrown both out as being useless ). This vacuum is the best ! It cleans like a dream, and the lead is long enough to reach most of the rooms on the ground floor.
Summary: We chose this upright bagged vacuum after failures with three previous brands and we are absolutely delighted with it. It is sturdy, neat and compact, light and very easy to use. So far so good and although we had never heard of Sebo until we spoke to a retailer on his recommendations, we do not regret the huge difference in price for such a good quality vacuum.
Summary: Bought another product with a 6 year guarantee 2 years ago and have had tons of trouble with it. It was also the heaviest hoover I have known. My mum always raves on about her Sebo X4 which she has had for years. Many friends and family members have bought this vacuum cleaner and also raved about it. They are not wrong! It looks boxy and it is fairly basic, but I would buy it at twice the price.
Summary: We bought this to replace our 15 year old sebo x1, which we have donated to our daughter for her first home, as it still works as it should. The x1 has been a very good reliable machine so I expect the x4 to continue this trend. Both machines perform well, even leaving stripes on the carpet. our friend has had 3 dysons in the time that we have had one sebo, making sebos good value.
Summary: Our original Sebo (about 30 years old) has been passed down to our daughter. We have 2 of our Airbelt cylinder cleaners, one of which is kept upstairs and the other, which this new machine is to replace, will go into the garage! We can't speak highly enough of them.
Summary: This vacuum is fine for floors,is powerful so you don't need to push it along. The down side is the hose is no good for stair cleaning as it doesn't reach far enough. I'd expect a machine costing nearly two hundred pounds would at least have had a longer hose. My faithful old Hoover had a long hose and a choice of tools for half the money.
Summary: Don't buy a cheap cyclonic cleaner - they're not worth it! It's taken me about ten other vacuums but I've finally found one that satisfies all my requirements: 1. Quality 2. Robustness 3. Clever design 4. Cleans effectively. The Sebo X4 ticks all these boxes: It is built using quality materials including metal parts which means it will keep working for years and it has a clever, intelligent design that makes it easy to use, empty and maintain.
