Summary: This is the best thing since sliced bread! Hugo, yes he has a name, is part of our family and i could not live without him now. He has his own zig zag way of cleaning up and it works so well. How good does it feel to go out and leave him to his work and come home to spotless floors all through. The lighthouses work well allowing every room to be done in the daily programme. Hugo brushes in corners and sucks up dirt i never knew was there!
Summary: This machine is not for longer haired dogs to be fair. Our collies' hair clogs up the brushes too easily for it to be excellent. Also realised you need to start from a reasonably clean floor for greatest efficiency. But now .... Put dogs in car; switch on Roomba; take dogs for walk; return to clean floor; let dogs loose to dirty floor; return to start. Yes, it works and makes life easier all round.
Summary: I have had Roombas now for a couple of years. I was dubious at first as I have a very thick pile carpet and thought it would not be powerful enough to such up all the inbedded dirt. However, when Roomba first arrived I vacuumed my living room with my Dyson and then Roomba immediately afterwards, just to test how powerful it is, and Roombas bin was full by the time it had finished!
Summary: It's the second time I purchase iRobot Roomba 581. First one crashed after 1 week with an error 9. Unable to solve following instructions. This second unit crashed after 5 days, unable to recharge the battery. a 5 start to amazon regarding the management of the return and reimbursment. I've made my last chance from Amazon.es to purchase the irobot, 3rd unit in a month.
Summary: Have had it for a week now and haven't used the old hoover since. Saves the time I hoped it would and actually think it cleans better on the laminates around our house than the old hoover. Well worth the investment. One thing to be aware of is that it obviously doesn't have a 'hose type' extension so we will still need to keep the old hoover for getting into those hidden/high up areas when we need to. And yes, we've named ours too.
Summary: Wow, what a fantastic product. The idea of a robot cleaner really appealed to me but I was a little dubious about its effectiveness and I bought it bassed on the positive reviews I read - I needn't have worried - it's fab-u-lous darlings!!! I've named mine Brian...it picks up well and does its level best to get into all nooks and crannies its size will allow. Absolutely love it and would recommend to anyone.
Summary: Within ten minutes of using it I wished I'd bought it years ago. I agree with the instructions - you must prepare the room eg pick up big bits rubbish, such as a till receipt. In dining room "he" is faster if I put a couple of chairs up on table to help "him" negotiate legs. We have trunner mats in our hall, he negotiates these easily. I like the idea I can press "spot" button and it will go over a small messy area.
Summary: A Dyson might be the best vacuum cleaner technically, where it falls down is frequency of use and how precise you are when using it. My new Roomba 581 was set a challenge. I vacuumed my living room with my Dyson in my normal way and then let the Roomba have a go. The little vacuum had a significant volume of dust in it when I emptied it. I am lazy and view vacuuming as a chore, for my little Roomba it's the whole reason for living.
Summary: Well made clever bit of time saving kit. Does not replace a full size vacuum but in my home it reduces the use of one by 90%. Cleans solid floors and carpets very well. No proplem with quite thick rugs as it always seems to find an angle to climb the edge. Easy to to set up the 'lighthouse' system to control areas. Two minutes of a job to empty the dirt box and clean the brushes. Don't forget to give it a name because you will find yourself talking to it!
Summary: I just received my roomba 581 today and to be honest I was skeptical as to whether it would be any good or just another gadget I didn't really need and would kick myself for buying. Well, it is amazing. I am super fussy with my house and it being immaculate at all times. I have a dog and have to vacuum everyday, without fail, at least once. I also have a cleaner twice a week. I am honestly amazed by how well it does the job.
