Summary: this vacuum has great suction but cons are it needs to be emptied often and messy. Too much plastic I used mine a lot in a 1.5 years because I clean outside my home so it was not very portable plastic clips broke off and seal is not good any more. Too much plastic, too awkward to be very portable. Great suction and filtration but not durable.
Summary: This vacuum picks up heaps of dirt but it clogs in the wand very easily, with pet hair getting stuck on little forward facing 'fingers' at the bottom of the wand. it also clogs sometimes in the motor head just out of reach of my fingers, requiring me to completely pull it apart and pull out the hair and fluff. So excellent when it works but it shouldn't have to be pulled apart all the time to unclog it given Dyson's focus on engineering and the premium price.
Summary: I like the suction and the available options to vacuum. However, the hose is long and I find it difficult to store. I received this product without a manual so I'm not sure I know how to use it well as of yet. It's a shame because I spent btw $500-$600 on it.
Summary: Maybe it's just me but I can't imagine a better tool for cleaning floors at my apartment. There's cheap white carpeting in the bedroom looks like new each time Dyson takes a stab at it, there's also laminated "hard wood" floors which are pleasure to clean with this machine. One complaint I do have though, that's the canister release. When you press the button and the bottom opens all rubbish stays inside so you have to remove pieces by hand.
Summary: This is the most expensive vacuum I have ever bought and I can honestly say it was worth every penny. With a constantly shedding Lab it is a godsend for picking up hair from cloth furniture. I am amazed at the amount of ground in dirt it picks up!
Summary: I am more than happy with the job this machine does but am a little disappointed at the weight of the motorhead. Another member of my family has a similiar machine (smaller Dyson) but not a motorhead and it is a lot lighter to clean with but doesn't do quite the job of the motorhead. Not sure how you could improve but less weight would be fantastic.
Summary: While Dyson makes a great vacuum, they really need to pay more attention to their attachments. In this case, the floor brush for the DC23 Animal Vacuum cleaner. With the power of a Dyson I should have to vacuum the same room two or three times to get up all the hair from my pets. This is the pet edition after all. The suction power is there, but the spin brush fails in a big way.
Summary: So very happy with our purchase of the Dyson DC23 Motorhead. This machine is the king of all vacuum cleaners :) With 5 kids (two who suffer from bad asthma) 2 cats and a dog we needed something that would thoroughly clean our carpets with minimal fuss. This machine far exceeds all expectations. It is quite heavy at first and costly compared to some other brands but the performance outweighs any objection to the price or how heavy it is.
Summary: So far there has been good results with performance. My only criticism for this product is the weight and ackward centre of gravity when coiled up and carrying. I hope Dyson will address this issue. If I could return and exchange for a lighter product to do the same job now, I would. BCD.
