Summary: I was looking for a vacuum that was easy to carry for stairs and take outside for car cleaning, powerful enough to clean pet hair and all that dirt trekked in from mountain hiking, camping or day in the woodshop, and small enough to get dust bunnies underneath furniture I can't move due to limited apartment space (tall order), and equally good on hardwood floors. Oh, and doesn't shoot out dust like most vacuums do...
Summary: I had used one of these before I bought mine, and I absolutely love it! If you think you have clean carpets, think again, you'll be amazed at what the Dyson will pick up. I love that I can see the dirt in the barrel and I know it's doing the job. Great for picking up animal hair. A durable, well built machine and well designed with the stowaway feature and a place for the motor head, all nice and compact. Extremely happy with my purchase!!!
Summary: Having had previous vacuum cleaners, Dyson machines are far superior. You never have to go over the same piece of carpet twice and unlike others, when you round a corner the machine doesn't fall over....
Summary: I bought this on a friend recommendation and I must say it has exceeded all of my expectations. I have since bought the handheld dyson as well and together they are great for a larger house with three kids under 5! It does all it promises and more. I am always horrified at the amount of yukky stuff that comes out of the floor and carpet every time you vacuum and you are left with a feeling that it is clean.
Summary: This is improvement over its predecessor (e.g., greater suction, ease of emptying the bin) but is still not worth the very high sticker price. It's difficult to manoeuvre around corners and the flexible hose tends to kink. The on/off button is awkwardly sited. I regret having bought this but my old machine was worn out to the point of uselessness. The DC23 does not live up to the Dyson reputation and is generally a disappointment.
Summary: Very good on carpets , cleans deep into the pile . Hard floor head is ok , needs some fine tuning. Perhaps broader , flatter head with a few more spaces between the brush strip . And the ability to retract the brush strip. Hose gets twisted easily , I understand the power to the power head runs through the hose. Maybe a swivel joint in the hose some how may rectify this issue. The machine is quite heavy could be difficult for some people to move about.
Summary: We recently bought the DC23 Animal Motorhead to replace our old Dyson, which was the first model ever released. We have 2 cats and 3 Australian Shepherds and carpet in every darn room of our 5 level side split. Yes, you read that correctly! I have always loved our Dyson and when it finally died I knew we would get another Dyson but I wasn't sure which model.
Summary: I have owned this vacuum for over 5 yrs. No issues with anything breaking or with durability. I have three longhaired cats, which is the whole reason I bought this model. I brought it home, vacuumed with my old vacuum and then used the Dyson. I was amazed and disgusted what was in my carpets! Ick! This does a fantastic job on carpets, hard floors, curtains and furniture even with all that fur!
Summary: This vacuum picks up heaps of dirt but it clogs in the wand very easily, with pet hair getting stuck on little forward facing 'fingers' at the bottom of the wand. it also clogs sometimes in the motor head just out of reach of my fingers, requiring me to completely pull it apart and pull out the hair and fluff. So excellent when it works but it shouldn't have to be pulled apart all the time to unclog it given Dyson's focus on engineering and the premium price.
