Good Machine but better to consider alternatives

Kinghale, Dyson Australia

  • Summary: This machine functions well for what it is supposed to do. Would have been even better if the head could be motorised, but since there is no electrical wire down to the head this is not possible.

Disappointing

  • Summary: I bought this Dyson cause I previously owned an upright version of a Dyson and loved how it worked. Easy to assemble but very annoying to store. Hose and tubing always falls down and the turbine head really does not pick up well on thick carpets. Works well on hardwood floors, ceramic, etc. If you are looking for a carpet vac this is def not for you. Brushes start to slow down immediately when the carpet is thick and will not pick up anything.

  • Summary: There are both positive and negative aspects to this vacuum. What I like: Great suction. Does a great job on hard surfaces. Looks nice. What I don't like: Drags behind you awkwardly. Doesn't "steer" well at all. One reviewer mentioned the hose coils under the front making it hard to control, which is true, but you can pop that piece out so that it doesn't do that. Still kind of hard to steer though.

A Great Value

David J. Miller, Amazon
19 June 2012
  • Summary: I have been using the DC23 daily for several years now. Like any well-design product, the amount of time and thought that went into developing this canister vacuum from Dyson more than justifies its modestly higher price. After just a few uses, you can tell that real thought was put into even the smallest details: like the cord retraction tension (strong, but not too forceful), the hose material (flexible, but resilient), and the connection/release mechanisms (simple but...

  • Summary: So easy to use to vacuum carpet on stairs. My upright vacuum is heavy, and tips over easily when using attachments. No problem with this canister vacuum. Suction is strong enough to pick up pet hair from carpet as well as the hard wood floors. Flexible enough to get under the furniture. I love it!

  • Summary: Finally I could afford a DYSON. Thank GOD its pretty because that is all if anything nice I have to say about it. It moves awkwardly. It bumps walls and the CORD is WAY too short. The head is motorized and light but the wand that supports it is much heavier. Wish I had test drove this first. Won't return it because I don't want my husband to say "told you so". Should have bought another Shark and hoping this thing blows up so I can.
