Review Summary
The Sony KDL-46V3000 is a 46” LCD that is said to have revived its brand loyalty. What many will see is its attractive black panel with a high gloss sheen and on the inside, there’s the technology that produces the high resolution and 1080p image displayed on the screen. On top of the LCD is where the controls are located. Connections input and output that are available at the back are what have pleased its users. Some of its appreciated features are its superb color accuracy and its impressive image contrast. While some of its defaults noted are the fact that there’s a considerable amount of smearing that appears in motion scenes. Its film-mode detection is inconsistent. Excessive overscan with standard definition and component 720p video has also been noted by reviewers. Though it does deliver color and contrast that other HDTVs would be challenged to match, even though its viewing sweet spot is relatively narrow. On the whole, PCmag.com concluded that Sony’s Bravia KDL-46V3000 delivered the best out-of-box color among any HDTV around, but unacceptable image blurring when displaying dark scenes as well as a narrow viewing sweet spot make it difficult to recommend.
