The Sony KDL-40V4000 is a 40 inch Full HD 1080 Ready BRAVIA LCD TV with BRAVIA Engine 2, 24p True Cinema and BRAVIA Sync. In terms of design, the Sony KDL-40V4000 features a draw the LINE design concept and is available in Piano Black finish. The Sony KDL-40V4000 sits on a stand that gives it a versatile swivel function.

The Sony KDL-40V4000 allows you to watch TV, movies and computer games in superb High Definition detail thanks to the 6.2 mega pixel resolution. Besides that, it also incorporates BRAVIA Engine 2 picture enhancement technology and Advanced Contrast Enhancer that provides for incredibly clear and defined images. Also, the 24p True Cinema allows you to watch films exactly how the director intended them to look like.In addition to that, via BRAVIA Sync, you can also control your entire home cinema set-up with just one click on the available TV remote control as well as access the menus on compatible peripheral devices such as Handycam camcorders thanks to BRAVIA Sync. The Sony KDL-40V4000 also includes three HDMI inputs (two on rear, one on side, all with CEC) that makes it easier to connect to High Definition sources such as Blu-ray Disc and PLAYSTATION3. In terms of sound features, the Sony KDL-40V4000 incorporates Virtual Dolby Surround and BBE ViVA sound technology to give it the effect of digital surround sound from only two front speakers. Besides that, you can also watch digital TV with the integrated standard definition digital terrestrial tuner that can also receive analogue. The Sony KDL-40V4000 is wall mountable with the optional SU-WL500 bracket. It runs on a power consumption of 0.19 W when on standby and 175 W when operating.

    The 40V4000 is a fine budget/mid range performer from Sony although its relatively high price pushes it into an area of serious LCD competition from the likes of Samsung and Panasonic. Sony does classy conservative styling better than anyone else and this may just swing the balance in its favour for some of you. Read more

    The Sony KDL40V4000 is an aesthetically pleasing, affordable HDTV which puts out a very pleasing image, due largely in part to its fantastic calibrated black level. Colours are relatively accurate, and although it wasn’t possible to fully calibrate the display, the “Warm2″ greyscale preset will still please many.
