Summary: Only when I plug it with my computer, there is no HD 1080p full screen effect. Only I can see part of the screen usage which makes the visible portion smaller than it should be. And for AT&T cable TV sets, whatever I tried, it just cannot be properly functioning 1080p by adjusting the AT&T settings menu. It shows part of the program screen or visible part cannot be fully stretched.
Summary: It's a Sony Bravia. What else needs to be said. One of the best features is that this model, like most Bravia's, when used with an HDMI equipped Sony DVD player, will convert the digital signal from all of your old DVD's to a 1080 resolution HD picture. Perfect size for my small room. Great picture, (regardless of the refresh rate), and perfect for my needs. My modest home theater is finally complete.
Summary: I have had this TV for 1.5 years. Looks nice, good quality picture. I have it hooked up to a home theater system for sound, so I can't comment on the sound quality. I am happy with it and I have had good luck with other Sony products in the past.
Summary: I purchased this new on at Target in Oct '11. I am out of town 4+ days a week, so I don't watch tv often. Last night, I had it on for about 20mins & I heard a "pop". The orange light for "sleep mode" went on for a sec & then nothing. Power in house was fine. Dvd player in same outlet still working. Tried unplugging. Checked to make sure not overheated. Tried plugging it in again this morning - no picture, no sound, no lights. Of course, it's out of warranty.
Summary: I bought myself a Sony Bravia 40" HD T.V. thru Amazon, for Christmas last year and am VERY pleased with this purchase. I am so satisfied that I am in the process of ordering the same T.V. in 32" for the guest bedroom. Overall, it's a great T.V. and the price is terrific. If the price remains agreeable, there might be a third t.v. purchase for the main bedroom!!
Summary: I purchased this tv on Feb 24, and have no regrets. I have been looking a long time for a new tv for months, going back and forth between various brands, reading A LOT of reviews, and finally decided on Sony. At first I thought I was going to need help putting it together, but I didn't. It was so simple. I only had SD cable box the first day (TV came a day early), but I didn't mind. The picture quality is beautiful in SD, but when I got the HD, WOW!
Summary: Sony BRAVIA KDL40BX450 40-Inch 1080p HDTV, Black This product was bought for Christmas 2011. It had an LED defect & started having picture problems in Feb 2012. Sony would only replace with refurbished. Never got an even "I'm sorry" you had trouble with one of our products from Sony. Their customer service was a disappointment. Sony knew this TV had past LED issues. Amazon customer service was outstanding.
