The Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio is a sound card from Creative with a 24-bit/96 kHz 7.1 playback rate and more than 108 dB stereo signal-to-noise ratio (20kHz Low-pass filter, A-Weighted) with 0.006% total harmonic distortion at 1 kHz (20 kHz low-pass filter). It has 24-bit/96 kHz recording. Connectivity is via Speaker and Headphone connections for stereo to 7.1 (Line Out via three 3.5 mm mini jacks), line In / Microphone In / Digital Out (supports stereo SPDIF out and pass through of multichannel DVD sound) / Digital I/O (requires Sound Blaster Digital I/O Module that is sold separately) via shared 3.5mm FlexiJack, auxiliary line level input (via 4-pin Molex connector) and Intel HD Audio Compatible Front Panel Header (2x5pin).

Features

The Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio features X-Fi technology that enhances the highs and lows sounds, X-Fi CMSS-3D Surround sound that enhances audio experience with ambient sound that appears all around users via desktop speakers or a full 5.1 speaker system. It also features headphone surround and X-Fi technology that moves the sound away from the ears into the space around. Other features are Cyberlink PowerDVD software with DTS® and Dolby Digital®-EX decoding.

    I have the X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card which I want to run surround sound speakers in order to play music I have stored on my pc. What leads do I need to connect to my existing sound system, or alternatively I could buy a separate surround sound amp,in which case what leads do I need and how are the connections made? Sorry to be a doughnut!
