Summary: This shaver has very good reviews but I was still skeptical having paid £160 for a Phillips shaver a few years ago and being a bit disappointed, as it struggled with longer hairs especially on the neck. i tried a Remington for a few years and found it rubbish although a cheap one, when it went wrong I decided to try another Phillips. Even though this had such good reviews my expectations were average due to my experience with the £160 one.
Not quite the best thing since sliced bread... i.e., don't throw away your blades just yet!

Summary: UPDATE: Firstly, I have had much better results on my second attempt, but I truly feel that this due to my having much shorter stubble. Now, I feel that it's fair that I update my review below to say this - with only 2 days of stubble you should also see very good results with this shaver, provided you shave with foam using careful circular movements.
Summary: I've always heard negative things about electric razors but since discovering there were now electric razors available that you can buy and use with water, my interest was piqued. I went online to try and find the highest rated and the aquatouch seemed to be it. Being a wet shaver for the past 15 years or so I was keen to see how an electric razor-wet or dry, would compare. In a word, it doesn't.
Summary: Bought this shaver as a gift for my husband, forgetting that he has always been a strong critic of Philips shavers (mainly because he worked for a competitor). I thought that I would have to return and he was even reluctant to take it out the box. He eventually put it on charge and amazed himself on how close a have he received! Stating that it has been the best shave for many a year!!
Summary: very good shaver charge lasts for ages havve used four times since purchase and still plenty of charge left, it is quiet and gives a good smooth shave and trimmer is good also, easy to clean as you just rinse under tap because its waterproof
Summary: The Philips Aquatouch is a wet shaver ie can be used in the shower with shaving foam or gel, which I like but it is quite difficult to get a close shave either Wet or Dry. My 15 year old Philishave beats it hands down but its still a pretty good shaver just not as good as I hoped.
Excerpt: The Philips AT 890 aqua shaver is an electric shaver made by the electrical Giant Philips, one of if not the leading company in shavers. It is designed to be used for both wet and dry shaves and can be used with or without shaving cream. Look - As there is no above logo, the shaver looks like a standard Philips shaver with a blue and silver streak along the side with three shaving heads that bend to the face shape for a closer shave.
Summary: Having brought a number of Philips Shavers I wanted to purchase a new one to replace a 10 year old shaver that sadly had come to the end of it's life. I am so impressed with the AT890/17 AquaTouch. It is a a wet and dry shaver - works great in both ways. Perhaps the best shave I have ever had. Great battery charge - really pleased.

Summary: Always been a wet shaver, but decided to go electric instead and discovered that I could have an electric razer that could give me a wet shave while I showered! Results are good because my stubble is wet and softer than a dry electric shave. I recharge the battery once a month even though it still has charge, and the recharge only takes 1 hour. Brilliant!
