Review Summary

Scanning made simple. Scan family snapshots, school projects or even important documents. These are what represents or rather defines the Canon CanoScan LiDE 600F. It is an attractive, easy-to-use, and compact option for fast color and B&W image, film, and document scans. Designed with the advanced double-hinge-lid that opens by 180 degrees and by that, it lets you make clear, complete scans of your thickest originals, whether albums, books or notebooks. It can produce scans with spectacular resolution of up to 4800 x 9600 color dpi. Four buttons up-front, direct the LiDE 600F exactly what you want to do: Scan, Copy, Create PDF, and E-mail with just placing the original on the 8.5x11.7-inch scanning surface, hit the button for what you want to do; and in approximately 9 seconds your scan can be previewed on your monitor. The Contact Image Sensor (CIS) can scan at up to 4,800x9,600dpi and 48-bit color depth. The LiDE 600F bundled with software that enhances the resolutions up to 19,200dpi and a Canon’s Quick Automatic Retouching and Enhancement (QARE) technology that reduces much of the dust and scratches that may appear on your older originals. This is a great scanner for home, office, or dorm room! A very slim-line scanner, the Canoscan LiDE 600F weighs a mere 2.15kg (without the film scanner), making it highly portable.

With LiDE technology that features 4800 x 9600dpi* resolution, a Film Adapter Unit and unique 3-way design, the CanoScan LiDE 600F scanner is versatile enough to meet just about every need.

Canon’s CanoScan LiDE 600F provides what is essentially a big scanner set of features in a small scanner (except when the FAU is attached!) and at a remarkably small price too. It works well, is fast and provides good quality scans from an easy to use set of software and “EZ” buttons. The bulky FAU is a bit incongruous but overall, this is a great machine at a great price. Good points • Slim and lightweight • Fast scanning • Film adapter Bad Points • No support for 35mm slides Overall Lightweight, slim and fast scan speeds make the LiDE 600F a scanner well worth consideration. The only real let down is the lack of 35mm slide support. Read more

A slim, lightweight and stylish scanner with much improved image reproduction quality, software and utilities. It would be a must-have were it not for the clunky Film Adapter Unit that doesn't allow for 35mm slide scanning. Read more
