This sleek flatbed CanoScan 8800F is money well spend, for its no bulb warm-up time with high-luminance white LED lamps, a first in the industry, the 800F scans immediately. Equipped with a user-friendly and intuitive software with an excellent scan quality. The 8800F can also be used to scan negatives and slides - it has a built-in adapter for this, so there’s no need to buy anything else. Packaged with the latest Adobe Photoshop elements both for Mac and PC are good compliments for the scanner. As mentioned in their product review, it is designed with seven easy scan buttons that offer simple, one-touch operation. They can be programmed to handle the scanning tasks jobs you use most often. Four buttons are dedicated to scanning straight to PDF, including scanning in color or mono. The CanoScan 8800F has a number of other saving graces that makes it a very competent film scanner. The scanner is big - much larger both in terms of space required on the desk and in terms of bulk. This is considered rather different from Canon’s cheaper (and lower quality) Lide range of scanners. Scan quality is very impressive, with better color reproduction than we’re used to from standard film scanners. After all said, that the most important factor with the 8800F is a worthy alternative.
