Summary: I connect via ethernet not wifi and until now have had no problems. But recently I have had intermittent loss of connection - it would typically disappear in the evening and come back two days later in the morning! We've established it is not the phone line or ISP signal at fault. It feels very warm to the touch and I am guessing it is overheating. The ISP is sending out a new router but meanwhile I have put it on a stand to see if that helps.
Summary: Bought this to replace my old Netgear dg834g. It works perfectly. I really don't understand the negative reviews - this is just like having my old super-reliable dg834g, but faster and with greater wireless range. I'm delighted with it.
Excerpt: Seems a quality product, easy to setup and initially impressive Runs hot, repeatedly drops the wireless connections, reconnections sometimes work often don't forcing router reboots to allow reconnections, the router has reset it's SSID and password once requiring a cable connection to reset the values, bought a Netgear device because we use one at work and it's been pretty good - unfortunately that quality doesn't seem to extend to it's cheaper products - if you score it...
Summary: This router was to replace a very old one made by a company that no longer exists. I had to request support from Netgear to correctly configure the router. They were most helpful, and the router is now working well, I use both Ethernet and wireless to connect 2 PCs and an ebook. Note that if you buy a new router, and have Internet connection problems, your ISP may only provide technical support for certain makes and models.
