The D-Link DGS-1008D is a 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Switch that features a non-blocking switching architecture that filters and forwards packets at full wire-speed for maximum throughput. Besides that, it is also has an Address learning and aging, 802.3x Flow Control for full duplex mode, and back pressure flow control for half-duplex mode alleviates traffic congestion and ensures reliable data transmission. It uses a store-and-forward transmission method with a 1Mbyte on chip buffer memory per device as the packet buffer memory. It has a forwarding rate of 10Mbps-14,880pps/100Mbps-148,810pps/1000Mbps-1,488,100pps and a Jumbo frames of 9KB. In addition to that, the D-Link DGS-1008D uses a maximum power consumption of 4.5Watts. The D-Link DGS-1008D reduces power consumption and creates less heat and reduces operating cost while extending product life. This is achieved by automatically detecting link status and reduce power usage of idle port. Another way this is attained is by the reduced cable length of the D-Link DGS-1008D.
