Summary: I expected a lot more from a Cuisinart product. The convenience of a rice cooker is cancelled out by the mess that this thing makes when cooking rice. Doesn't matter if you are making one cup or four, you'll spend at least 10 minutes cleaning up the splatter and spill on the counter and the cooker itself. Do yourself a favor and try a difference brand!!
Summary: We registered for this product for our wedding and I am so happy that we got it. We love to steam just a few veggies to accent our dinner, and this simple (and small) machine makes that so easy. And clean up is the easiest. For a lazy, beginner cook like me, this is perfect for making a little bit of rice and for steaming a few veggies.
Summary: I've read through several of the reviews for this product, and I don't agree with a lot of the negative reviews. I believe this is a good product. It probably isn't excellent, but good. I have had it for 3 years and have used it several times. I have never experienced it boil over or undercook or overcook food. Everything turns out as expected. It does its job if you follow the directions.
Excerpt: This rice cooker is incredible if you learn the trick to it. My husband and I got this rice cooker as a wedding gift. The first time we used it, the rice boiled over the top and it was a mess. However, we have learned the trick to it. The manual is wrong. This device comes with two tops. A glass top that is supposed to be used for rice, and a top with holes in it that can be used for steaming things. Use the top with the holes when cooking rice.
Conclusion: I love how fast this heats up. Prepares a pot of rice faster than another brand I had before it broke. We also like the stainless steel and smaller footprint. Nice to have something more attractive on the kitchen counter. And most important, the rice is delicious.
Pros: Durable, Attractive Design, A good useable product, Easy To Assemble
Summary: It boils over no matter how much rice you cook in it. Makes a big puddle all over my countertop. I'm returning it. Uses a special measuring cup for the rice with different measurements than a regular measuring cup. ?!. Then the instructions tell you that they don't recommend you cook less than 2 cups of rice, but only give instructions for less than 2 cups (water measurements)!! Makes no sense. The rice did come out yummy. I have to give them that.
