The Optoma HD65 is from the ThemeScene home cinema projector series. It is HD ready for High Definition movies, gaming and television via HDMI v1.3 input and has a ten year colour guarantee. The Optima HD65 projector is based on an all-digital DLP chip which, unlike competing analogue technologies, the semiconductor that makes DLP projection possible is virtually immune to environmental factors that can cause an image to degrade over time. The Optoma HD65 can be mounted on the front or rear, ceiling or rear ceiling. It has a dimension of 259 x 73 x 188 mm, and weighs about 2.04kg.

Features

The Optoma HD65 is a collaboration of HD Ready 720P DLP technology from Texas Instruments and Optoma Colour Enhancement Technology. The Optoma HD65 also features Optoma Colour Enhancement Technology which enhances image quality by increasing the depth or fluid for natural realistic looking images and TrueVivid Image Processing and TruVision Technology which eliminates jagged edges. The Optoma HD65 has an HD Ready Native 720P, HDM v1.3 input, with a brightness of 4000:1.The connections in the package include HDMI, two 1.3 RCA 2 VGA via adaptor, SCART RGB, S-Video, Composite Video (CVBS), and DVD-D computer and RGB compatibility. Other than that, the display has an aspect ratio of 16:9 with support for 4.3, a throw ratio of 1.55- 1.7 (projection distance/ image width) 1.1x Manual zoom. The power consumption is about 255W, maximum when running to class and 9W when on standby. The supplied accessories include AC power cord, Component video cable, S-video cable, SCART RGB to VGA, 16 pin D-sub adaptor, VGA cable, remote control with backlight, batteries for remote control, lens cap, user’s guide and ceiling mounting kit.

    Given the price point, though, it's probably something I would be prepared to live with. The image quality for HD games and movies is high and the portability and price point of this capable projector is sure to appeal many. Read more
