The Epson EB-W6 is an entry level multimedia projector utilising RGB Liquid Crystal Projection system (front/rear/ceiling mount method) with a 0.56 inch poly-silicon TFT LCD (without MLA) Active Matrix. It has 1.02 million (WXGA 1280 x 800) x 3 pixel with an aspect ratio of 16:10/2000:1 contrast ratio. It has manual zoom and focus (f1.6-1.74/F18.4-22.12 mm) with a zoom ratio of 1.0 - 1.2. The unit has a 170W UHE lamp that gives up to 4000 hours (low brightness) of life. The unit projects a screen size from 27 to 270 inch. The unit supports Analogue (0.7V p-p, 75ohm / Mac 0.714Vp-p, 75ohm) video signal and 500mVrms / 47k-ohm audio signal (Separate (positive & negative, bi-polarity 2-5 Vpp) / Composite (positive & negative, bi-polarity 2-5Vpp) / Sync-on-green (negative, 0.3Vpp for sync. signal) via D-sub 15pin x 1 (Blue moulding) and RCA x 1 (White/Red). This unit measures 245 x 327 x 101 mm and weighs 2.8 kg.

Features

The Epson EB-W6 features 3LCD technology that uses three individual LCD panels to display images, and achieve quiet operating levels. It also features light–efficient lamp technology E–TORL (combining an ellipsoidal reflector, spherical lens and hemispherical mirror) designed to minimise light leakage and light diffraction. It built with the environment in mind, with no use of halogen fireproof chemicals for the main body, recycled paper for packaging, has lead-free lens, low power consumption and improved light efficiency and reduced standby power consumption. Other features on this unit are Instant Off and Quick Start up (5 seconds between pressing the "power" button and projection of the start up screen), 8 colour modes, USB connectivity, HDMI, built-in speakers, and Slide show functions.

    This is a good, practical projector for business and school use, but we suspect it may find itself in a few living rooms too, though it doesn't have HD facilities. Its innovative use of USB for picture and data connection makes it particularly flexible as a transportable projector, a use emphasised by the padded carrying case supplied as standard. Read more

    We purchased this projector for about $750 USD. Cons - Design isn't what you would call sexy - Lack of Horizontal Keystone Correction Pros - 1280x800px resolution - Good brightness - Good contrast - Instant off - HDMI connectivity - Faultless auto sensing setup (connected to a mac) - Sliding lens cover protects the lens very well - Quite portable (although there are more portable options, they lack the picture quality) This projector has performed very well in real-world...
