  1. Lexmark E120n Mono Laser Printer

Lexmark’s technical strength has always been in laser technology ever since the days when the company was IBM's printer division. So when Lexmark told me it was quite excited about this entry-level mono laser printer I was very interested to see what all the kerfuffle was about. Read more

Scroll your memory truffles back ten years, flick open a catalogue of printers and tell me the cheapest monochrome laser you can find. Bowel-shattering, isn’t it. And yet for the past few weeks in my lounge-cum-banquette-seating-area I’ve had a networked laser printer that you can pick up for less than $100 online (or under £80 in the UK); it’s the E120n and it’s made by the lovelies at Lexmark. The best print quality at entry level, good speed, and reasonable cost per page. Lexmark is rather mean with its starter toner cartridge capacity. Read more

I've only had this printer for less than a month, but it performs wonderfully. The text is crisp, and the printer is fast. I'm a technical writer, so it's not uncommon for me to print 200+ page documents. Even the graphics in grayscale look great. It's a huge improvement over my old, slow inkjet printer. Another great feature is the toner costs less than all the ink cartridges for my inkjet printer, and they last much longer. I'm still using the trial toner cartridge. I... Read more

May be a little loud(think high end graphics cards at 100% fan speed with a lower pitch) if you have it too close to your computer, but if you don't mind it then its not really a big deal. Also, it seems to flag the toner as low based on page count, not actual percentage remaining. Ergo, it can flag low toner at 50 or 60% remaining, but it'll allow you to keep printing anyways, so no real big deal here. Please disregard my previous post as it contains most of this info Read more
