How to setup the HP P1102w for AirPrint on an iPad or iPhone without a PC.

Summary: When we bought our P1102w, we did so exclusively to use it with AirPrint. Everything we read suggested that to use the printer we would need access to a PC, so our son dutifully rolled up with his laptop to setup the printer and connect it to wifi. An hour later we still hadn't got it to connect to wifi (it would print from USB no problem) & we were starting to think it would have to go back, but then we discovered a buried guide on the HP site which gave us hope.

Summary: This is a great mono printer with an option of manual duplex printing and full WiFi print functionality. I don't print very often, maybe once a month just a couple of pages so having a laser printer was a must to avoid dried up ink cartridges. One small tip, the package I had contained a driver disc that didn't seem to recognise the 1102w printer when it was connected, so I set mine up using WPS in less than 5 minutes.

Summary: After reading a lot of reviews for this printer I decided to take a chance on the wireless connectivity working for me. Unfortunately my experience has been the same as a lot of other reviewers. I cannot connect via the wireless connection. I followed the instructions, such as they are but seem to get stuck at the 'waiting for you to connect the device part' although I had attached the USB cable as per instructions and the printer works using the USB cable.
Summary: Printing from this machine is an ordeal every time. Run out of paper when printing a long document? Sorry, you have to restart the whole print. Using Wifi to connect? You'll often need 3 or more attempts before it finally starts the print, even if the sending device and wifi network is right next to it. Printing any kind of basic black and white image, or god forbid, a pdf?
