This printer can work with genuine ink or the other inks you can find on ebay, and really it does not affect image quality as i have been using Epson for years and never bought genuine epson branded ink. Plus you can save a lot by buying Epson (in particular R285) because you can buy a CISS system for it reducing your printing costs significantly!!! Read more
The problem with Lightscribe is that it is very, very slow to print, and the colour range is pathetic. Far better buy a direct-to-cd printer, like the Epson Stylus Photo R285, and use silver-top printable disks. The end result is quick, and the effect of printing on silver-top printables can be stunning, especially if you are looking at metallic finishes.
