Ink costs are frugal, working out to about 1.8p for mono text pages, 5p for colour documents and 7.4p for 10x15cm photos. Compared with most Epson and HP printers, as well as Canon's own six-ink photo printers, ink cost are half the price. For speed and sheer versatility, the iP5300 is simply unbeatable. Read more

Apart from the slightly frustrating niggles with the set up process, it is fair to say this printer produces professional quality A4 prints at a very reasonable price, output is fast and, thanks to the ChromaLife100 inks, prints will last up to 100-years as well. Superb. Read more

  1. any recommendations on a new printer

It was Gazanimal who recommended the Canon Pixma IP4000. See.... http://www.dvd-secrets.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=50742&highlight=pixma I reckon its discontinued also but you could try the Canon Pixma iP5300 or one of the new range of Epsons. I think the r265 is about the same level as the 200/220.
