The Canon Pixma iP3500 inkjet printer is a proficient model yielding fast prints. Plain-text pages can be printed at a speed of 8.3 pages per minute (ppm), while photo-printing speeds range from 1.6ppm to 3.2ppm. The prints are precise and clear. Into the top-loading input tray can fit a wide range of media sizes. The Canon Pixma iP3500’s features two-part output tray and in the second input tray you can load plain paper there and have the top input tray free for loading photo paper or labels. The input and output trays, and extensions can be somewhat confusing as it is difficult to know where things go in or out. The print head and removable ink tanks for each of the four colours are beneath the printer’s center panel. Each of the Canon Pixma iP3500’s tanks has an embedded LED which lights red when the tank is properly inserted. The usage and price of the ink can be said to be worthy. Included is the Easy Photo-Print EX software for organising, editing, and printing photos, plus Canon’s My Printer application for adjusting settings and troubleshooting. Reviewers at CNET.COM consider the Canon Pixma iP3500 to be a good printer with great and fast print quality at a reasonable price. And while it does not have extra features they consider the printer to be convenient “for home users who have basic print needs but still want good-looking prints”.
