Excerpt: I was really impressed when I was looking for my power supply. I know Corsair are a good make and I had sort of settled on the TX850W for my new PC. However I was nervous, I know how I love to add hard drives and gadgets etc, plus knowing the capabilities of my motherboard I thought I better read up...
Summary: If these are ever in stock again for the 70 bucks...pick it up. The overall build quality is phenomenal and for a 850 watt of (reliable) power you can not beat this...you just cant.
Pros: For 70 bucks, (refurb of course) I got... *80 plus bronze *850 watts of power *A pretty quiet unit *Semi modular The fan has only kicked on a handfull of times and usual for only a minute or so. Also if you have a full tower, the cords are plenty long.
Cons: This is more of a nitpick.... The fan that i wrote of...louder than all hell, but its not enough to dock the egg because in the 2ish month ive had it...its only kicked on 3 or 4 times.
Summary: Pins 10 and 11, the +12V contacts on EATXPWR, connector are damaged. Pin 11 on the Molex appears to have been broken off, while pin 10 on the Molex appears to have melted. Pin 11 also has a very poor looking splice changing the yellow +12 wire to a black.
Summary: Although they are not modular these are great. It took me 4 years to realize that my old PSU was modular and this one is not. So I guess modularity isn't really that important as we think.
Pros: Still going strong. One has powered Tri Sli GTX 470's pulling 1,150 watts from the outlet. Measured with a kill-a-watt meter. The other is powering Sli'd GTX 770's. Pretty impressive for 5 years without fail. Both of the machines are on UPS as well.
Summary: I was really nervous to purchase this as a refurbished unit, and some of the reviews were quite negative. But I have been impressed with the performance so far, and have no regrets on the purchase. I'll just cross my fingers for a while...
Pros: Bought this for really cheap and I love it. Powers my entire AMD system with no issues what-so-ever.
Cons: It makes a funny whistling noise once in a while, but you have to pay close attention to hear it. It's not packaged as if it was new, which is my experience with most refurbished products I purchase.
