Summary: Arrived well packaged but took a while to despatch, quality feels superb although the cabled are super stiff and awkward in my Antec 900 mid gaming case. I'm a total disaster with computer hardware so I was a bit disappointed when the nice thick manual only had like 4 small pages in English, and no pretty pictures to show a retard like myself how to plug things in!
Summary: I had a 2 year old power supply before and I cannot compare it to this Corsair. What I like in this product is that they packed more than 10 extra power supply cables to be able to feed more than I need. When I first start my computer with this "power plant" I thought it was not working. I couldn't hear the sound of it as the fan spins only on high temperature. Assuming everything, I like it.
Summary: Bought a 1250w OCZ previously but this blew up within a month of purchase. Had this for over 3 months now, no problems handles pretty much anything i can throw at it, rather impressed! I feel the HX line of products offer a great bang for you buck. I think i will only purchase PSU from Corsair in the future as other company have been troublesome.
Summary: ... And you would expect it to be for the price. But then it's a premium product that you use for premium builds. I have two GTX570s in SLI with an overclocked i7-2600k and this thing barely breaks a sweat (ie. It stays cool). Cable management is simple, and build quality is superb. Highly recommended.
Summary: Tempted to forgo the RMA just so I can have my new build up and running, however I know that would end up causing me more trouble down the road.
Pros: - Powers my new rig
Cons: While under load (3d games, stress tests) the PSU emits a loud clicking or buzzing noise. It doesn't actually seem to be coming from the fan, I tested and the fan can be spinning with no sound. It is more like a static noise coming from the coil. I can switch to a menu for a split second and the sound will stop for that split second, right on beat.
