The PET835 by Philips is a slim portable DVD player which features built-in digital TV receiver. It is a tablet-style player with DVD slot. The weight of the player is 1kg whereas its dimension is at 255mm x 170mm x 31mm. Built-in speaker comes together with the player. It has LCD TFT display screen type where its diagonal screen size comes in 8.5-inch. The screen possesses the resolution of 480(w) x 234(H) x 3(RGB) with the brightness of 200cd/m². It uses Anti-glare Polarizer LCD panel type which is targeted on avoiding external light resources reflect users’ eye. At the aspect of its sound, the output power of the built-in speaker is 250mW RMS whereas its output power for earphone is 10mW RMS. The Philips PET835 that uses NTSC and PAL video disc playback system supports playback media that include DVD, Picture CD, SVCD, VCD, DVD-R/-RW, CD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW, WMA, CD and several others. Dolby Digital, MP3 and WMA are the compression formats that the player uses. Audio file systems supported by it is ISO-9660 and Jolliet. The digital TV tuner type of the player is DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting – Terrestrial).
