The Panasonic LS83 portable DVD player has a 8’5" LCD screen that can be used for portable business presentations, and entertainment. The screen is mounted on a z-fold hinge whereby the screen height can be adjusted and folded. This portable DVD player has the dimensions of 1.85" x 9.6" x 6.85" and weights at 2.25 lbs. The Panasonic DVD-LS83 player is compatible with a wide variety of disc formats including DVD, DVD±R/RW, DVD±R DL, DVD-RAM, SVCD, VCD, CD, CD-R/RW and Picture CD, and plays back DivX, MPEG4 videos and MP3, WMA music as well. The Panasonic DVD-LS83 features AV input and output jacks and also built-in headphone jacks. It has a 6-hour rechargeable battery.

Features

The 8.5" widescreen (16:9) display pivots for free-style viewing and folds flat against the player for use as a tablet. It has a playback time of nearly 6 hours. It plays MPEG4 and DivX video formats and MP3 and WMA audio files, as well as JPEG photos on its 8.5” screen. There are built-in speakers that are supported by virtual surround sound and dialogue enhancement technology in which a 3-dimensional sound experience can be achieved. It has the television signal system of NTSC. The video D/A converter is 108MHz/12-bit while the audio D/A converter is 96kHz/24-bit. There are also a built-in Dolby digital surround sound decoder and a built-in DTS surround sound decoder. Discs that are compatible to be played on this player are DVD, DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-R(DL), DVD+R, DVD+R(DL), DVD+RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, JPEG, MPEG4, DivX. Video S/N is 60 dB while the power source is AC 100-240V, 50/60Hz. Power consumption is 22W. Other features include a cinema mode, picture adjustment, MPEG digital noise reduction, H.Bass, Advanced Surround (V.S.S.), Headphone Surround (V.S.S.), Dialogue Enhancer, Hi Speed Smooth Scan, Variable Playback Speed Control, and Playback Mode Setting.

    I use one of these on an exercise machine to keep up with documentaries. For the past year I've been using a Sony DVP FX-820, but it would skip if A) I was playing content "late" in the disc (outer edge) or B) the exercise machine was vibrating more than usual. This really was a pain so I started looking for a player that had an anti-skip buffer like you find in most CD players. This was the only model that I could find that had it!     This product is sturdy, has an easy interface, nice size screen. Picture quality is very good. Have been using it for a couple of weeks and no complaints yet. I use my own speakers, so I can't say whether the sound is good enough on it's own. Read more
