Still, in single-player and in co-op, Saints Row 2 is one of the most ridiculous and enjoyable games of the year. Some will dismiss it as GTA's "gangsta" offshoot, but they're missing the point; with its immense scope, fun physics and focus on entertainment over realism or grit, Saints Row is what GTA would have become if Rockstar North had followed Vice City to its pimpin' conclusion. It may not have the graphical fidelity or the polish of its high-budget counterpart,... Read more
If you're reading this and deciding whether to buy the PS3 or Xbox 360 version, I'll give you a small indication of my preference. Having played both versions of the game now side by side, there is absolutely no difference in terms of graphics, game play, number of times the console locked up and crashed, etc. The only real difference was that I found the 360 controller much more comfortable to use than the PS3 controller. Coupled with Xbox Live, I would certainly say... Read more
Not wanting to subdue its creativity and flair, Saints Row 2 is juvenile, mindless teenage anarchy; a punk rock videogame that you’ll one day realise was lame and embarrassing, but you had a bloody good time dancing like an idiot when you were sixteen. Forget your snobbery and your feigned elitism – electrocuting a grandma with a pair of hospital defibrillators and then throwing her twitching corpse in front of a train is absolutely… electric. 'Tis but a flesh wound Those who rallied against the original game due to its similarities to GTA could well be drawn back into the action if they were put off by Niko's adventure, especially as it possesses so much of that entertainment factor that Rockstar seemingly held the monopoly over on the previous console generation. Of course, the copious amounts of violence and bad language mean that this is definitely NOT a game for kids, but chances are that "trendy Mum" and... Read more
SR2 is top game with good detail and game play its a shame it does not have auto lock or that you can't change to much of the controller to suit your self but they are just personal gripes. it is a game that will make you smile and it is clever in what you can do and how to play, lot to do and to see have fun if u get it, if you like GTA u should like this then even with the bugs it still top game, can't wait to see what else it has to offer Read more
Saints Row 2 was like hmmm when i saw a few pics here and there on the internet. when i walked into gametraders i saw it on the shelf and it looked pretty cool on the box cover so i decided to give it a whirl. put a pre-order on it after a week of almost forgeting my pre-order i picked it up. and played a lil bit b4 i went to sleep for work i was a lil bit like meh GTA 4 pwned this!!! after a good solid 4 to 5 hours i really found myself hooked there is so much variety... This was a better game than I expected. At first I thought that this was going to be a washout and nowhere close to the grand theft auto series. The graphics are not as good but then I realised that it did not matter. The story was a bit more interesting as gangs are exterminated completely. Whereas in GTA the gangs are still around after there bases and leaders are obliterated, so Saints row is more realistic there. Also the game is longer than you might expect and... Read more
If you enjoy Grand Theft Auto you should enjoy Saints Row 2 as well. The gameplay is very similar, but Saints Row adds over the top objectives/task that aren’t found in the GTA series. For example, you could hurl yourself in front of cars to collect insurance money. This sort of humorous gameplay is found throughout the game and makes it that much more than a mere GTA clone. Online co-op is a nice addition as it lets you and a buddy tackle all the missions together.... Read more
Everyone has a dark fantasy. It could be killing 3 people for a buck or ruling the world, but how about we make it somewhere in between? That's where Saint's Row 2 comes in. As you begin, you create you male or female protagonist through one of the deepest character creators ever made.** Your character wakes up from a coma caused from an explosion at the end of the first game (I sold the first game, so I'll have to download it if I'm to review it.). You escape the... Read more
