The game features a total of 25 cars for the Nintendo DS version. It also features instant replay letting player to rewind time by up to 10 seconds. Besides that, it also features Flashback that can be used in a limited number of times which determined by the difficulty setting. There are various types of competitions available depending on the car choose for the competition. Among of competitions featured are GT races, open wheel races, demolition derbies, et cetera. Furthermore, it also features 20 circuits from all around the world including Japan, United States and European tracks such as Le Mans and Spa Francorchamps. Also, it provides the Race Driver: Create and Race that enables player to create his or her own custom circuits and roadside billboards. Besides that, the GRID features an instant replay feature which allows the player to rewind time by up to 10 seconds.

The game has a competent and long career mode detailed earlier, as well as the usual single race options. The game looks fantastic. Feels fantastic. Sounds fantastic. The game somehow manages to be difficult enough to keep the average virtual racer occupied for hours perfecting the skills needed to keep the assorted sportscars on the track.
