PES 2008's entertaining match improvements, exhilarating action and solid additions mean it just about scrapes another 8, though at no point does it come even close to flirting with higher scores. It's fast, fluid, fun and physical, an improved, revamped version of PES 6 if you like. If that's what you're looking for from the next iteration of the series, then you won't be disappointed. If not, then I think you can probably work the rest out for yourself... Read more

With the Pro Evolution Soccer series renowned for its fluid, realistic gameplay, the new game builds on the implementation of Teamvision with additional key advances. As with previous releases since its inception in 1996, the ball is again treated as a separate entity, with the timing of shots entirely down to the player, while the new AI ensures that defenders work to close down space and block efforts on goal. Similarly, distribution of passes works along the same l... Read more

Ultimately, the success of Pro Evolution Soccer is a paradox for the game's designers. It's difficult to improve on the standard that was achieved with the fifth version of the game, but the designers could certainly start by introducing some next-generation features to the PlayStation 3. Although it's bad enough that it doesn't differ from its predecessor in any noteworthy way, the technical problems and laggy online mode combine to make cause serious gameplay issues... Read more

I have read a few of the reviews and feel that PES 2008 is being unfairly critisised. In the most this is a great game. The dribbling is good and you can no longer run straight past the entire oppsition. The passing is crisp and sharp allowing to perfectly carve up the opposition. On an HD television the visuals are brilliant, though the fans and grass can look a bit rubbish in the replays. Outside the game the menus are clear and the masterleague is great as always.... 5. [Gaming] PES 360 And PS3 Patched

It works now[/intro] After releasing the game in what we would deem less than acceptable condition Konami has finally got around to releasing a patch for both console versions of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. The download should initiate its good self as soon as you shove the footballer laden disc into your favoured console when it is connected to the internets. Of course, you should not just take our word for it, as the publisher also have a few things to say o...
