Review Summary

Half-Life 2- The Orange Box is an excellent and exciting PS3 game. This game focuses more on action. The game is featured with a multiplayer mode which is kind of fun to play with several friends. Moreover, Half Life 2 Orange Box is an awesome game featuring with PSN players in Team Fortress, which are really beautiful to look at. There is also a new feature such as the new quick save mode which is accessible just by holding the Start button while you are playing the game. Therefore, this enables the players to pause anytime they want and to resume the game as they wish to. Hence, the multiplayer mode is rather challenging. This will enables the players to enjoy themselves as well as a great time playing with friends. Each of the character has their own special abilities. Some viewers find the game really interesting and fun to play with friends as well as family. They said they enjoyed the game very much indeed and the animation work is simply fantastic. However, few players find that the loading time of this game is too long and some players also commented about the frame rate problems which are quite irritating, and also appear anytime in the middle of the game.

So, an 'eight' it is for PS3 Orange Box then, but with it, the stark reality that most of that score is attributable to the superb quality of the core Valve games rather than the shoddy conversion work which sees one game out of the five ruined, and another badly compromised. That being the case, if you own a PC, even a relatively lightweight one, that version will almost certainly be the better - and definitely cheaper - purchase. Read more

The Orange Box includes all the content of The Black Box, plus the original Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One. Half-Life 2: Episode Two -- the second installment in Valve?s episodic trilogy advances the award-winning story, leading the player to new locations outside of City 17. Portal -- a pioneering type of single player action game that rewrites the rules for how players approach and manipulate their environment ? much like how Half-Life 2?s Gravity Gun rei... Read more

It’s all very simple really. If you are interested in the contents of the Orange Box, and you just own a PS3 then you buy the game for that platform, it's just that good. Sure, it is a slightly inferior version than the rest - with some crazy inexplicable framerate problems in random areas throughout the game - but the core product is still excellent enough to warrant you playing the compilation. However, if you own either a capable PC or 360 along side your PS3 then ... Read more

Frame rate and loading issues aside, the content in The Orange Box for the PS3 is as good as the content in the superb Xbox 360 version. This is definitely a must-have game for the platform that will provide countless hours of single- and multiplayer action. It might not be the definitive version of The Orange Box, but it still represents one of the greatest values in gaming history. Read more

The Orange Box was bought after I traded in another game, I'd never initially think about buying this game for full price but after playing it, I disagree qith my earlier opinion. Instantly I would have said, quality over quantity because there are 5 games on this one disc... but quality and quantity are evenly matched. I'd heard about Half-Life on the PC but never being a huge PC gamer, I'd never got around to playing it and although this is the scond it doesn't matt... Read more
