The game features Niko performing new actions such as climbing telephone poles and fire escapes, pushing people who knock into him. It will also be possible to have multiple active missions, due to the fact that some missions will take many days and will require the player to wait for further instructions to be able to go on with the game. Mobile phones can be used to perform multiple actions. A version of the phone appears at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen and a list of several commands is available to the player, such as "meet me here," and so on. Retrying a failed mission is also possible by accessing to the menu. The phone can also be used outside vehicles to listen to the radio. The player can take photos with the mobile phone and upload them to the police computer. According to reviewers the game can be basically played from beginning to end without a single load screen. The soundtrack has been described as “modern and suits the mood perfectly”. Actually no characters from the previous games are returning, as a lot of them are already dead.

If you're old enough to play Grand Theft Auto IV then there's simply no question that you should. It stands alone. There is no alternative that comes anywhere close to capturing the joy of virtual existence in Liberty City - and that's exactly why it deserves full marks, because it pushes the envelope for immersive, modern, virtual worlds further than any other game - that and the fact that it simply has to be played by anyone with an interest in videogames. If you... Read more

These are the words of Niko Bellic, a troubled soul hailing from the eastern bloc, and the game's main protagonist who you control through the living breathing world of Liberty City. From the outset you can tell that this latest incarnation of Rockstar's epic Grand Theft Auto series is nothing short of spectacular. Read more

There is something quite exhilarating about being a bit naughty. Personally, I just can’t help getting a buzz from throwing chip wrappers into the wrong recycling bin. I’m not sure which one of my twisted childhood experiences made me so evil but from the latest GTA sales figures it seems I’m not alone. I’m exaggerating of course: GTA has always been about a lot more then playing out fantasies about mowing down pedestrians without having to worry about ruining... Read more

This is the official year of the PlayStation 3. After an appallingly lacklustre launch year and Christmas (which should have belonged in its entirety to Xbox 360, but was rather inconveniently hijacked by the unstoppable Nintendo Wii) this is the year PS3 owners will finally be vindicated in their purchase. Far away from blockbusters like Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5 and certain other very large recent releases, comes mental PS1 classic, Bishi Bashi Special, in... Read more

I love th GTA franchise, but to be honest i was disappointed by this fourth instalment. I have this game on 3 formats (PS3 XBox and PC) because I bought the latter but was given the first 2. anwyay, I see little differences between the formats but not enough to vary my review dramatically. all I will say is that if you are determined to get this, then the PS3 version has the best graphics. don't get me wrong: it has many good attributes. first and foremost, the graphics... just like the title says i was really let down by gta4 for so many reasons, here are some of the things that cheesed me off with the game that so many magazines gave 10/10???? i would give it 7/10 being generous. cheesed off with.... acting is poor and the characters have no charisma or charm, nico is a bland pot bellied immigrant who is just not cool at all and does missions for money he cant spend on anything?! story is really weak, characters appear with no reason for... Incredibly detailed world, stunning graphics and near perfect gameplay and as ever a great story which will keep you engaged from start to finish. Plus even if your not interested in going down the story route there are great mini games like darts, bowling, pool and also several mutiplayer games which are also great. Only had it a day but this is already my favourite game of all time, well recommend Grand theft auto 4 ! Read more
