    There are, of course, still a few flaws. Otherwise why would we look forward to next year’s version? Opposition goalkeepers tend to wait an unhealthy amount of time to take goal kicks every now and again, which is a touch frustrating. Tricking your way through defences is still much more effective against human opponents than computer controlled players. Plus online does seem to have more games that are affected by a touch of lag.     Ultimately, FIFA have improved on their previous effort, perhaps knowing fully that the ball is in Konami’s court to improve this year. If Pro Evo was still at its best, then FIFA 09 would be a genuine alternative. As it is right now, FIFA is the new home of the hardcore football gamer. The changes are just enough to warrant a slightly higher score from last year, but based on this form, it’d be a shame to see FIFA rest on its laurels again, especially if Konami come... Read more

    Firstly, I havent bought a FIFA on the Playstation since FIFA 98 Road to the World Cup, as I found it a bit of a 2 trick pony in that you could easily pull off a trick and stroll past a defender with a speed burst, and it was way too easy to score as there were spots where you shot from and the keepers would flap helplessly in the wind like an England goalkeeper.     Just to add to all the positive reveiws of this game.It is easily the best footy game on the planet at the moment.If your not sure whether to buy fifa or pro evo,having played both there is only one winner.All the options on or offline.All the licences and a good amount of stadiums.Dont even think of buying any other football sim this best out there 10/10.     This is a great game. By far the best fifa game to date. Before 09 the fifa series was more arcadish. You could cross the ball in the box and it would be an easy header in the back of the net. That's a lot more challenging now. Overall the gameplay is more realistic and players make mistake as they do in the real game.
