Damnation is assuredly bigger than your average game, but the better for it? Oh my, no: its scale only exacerbates its innumerable deficiencies. Perhaps it’s just inexperience on the part of Blue Omega, who very responsibly named their studio after an hallucinogenic concoction of ecstasy and 2C-B, or perhaps the grand scope of the developer’s vision proved more crippling than freeing. In either case, Damnation is more interesting as a symptom of an industry in... Read more
Damnation represents Blue Omega’s first step into the gaming industry and spending the passed years working in the film division. The game is a third person action shooter, which puts you in the shoes of Rourke, and his quest to find his lost lover Dayden, and overcome the threat that is PSI. So the question is, will the team show immediate adaptation to the field and deliver a game truly worth buying, or show their inexperience by providing a title that you... Read more
The game certainly has the feel of an unpolished mod, which is appropriate considering the game's origins as an award-winning modification for Unreal Tournament 2004 . Maybe with a bit more time and experience Blue Omega could have made something interesting here, but as it stands Damnation is a bit of a mess, and should be avoided. Read more
Set in an alternate universe where the American Civil War has lasted for decades and steam-power has ousted electricity, Damnation tries admirably to be a good steampunk shooter but is hindered by below-par graphics and a near-disastrous opening level. Read more
Damnation is one of those titles that videogame critics hate to review the most. No, it's not the hurriedly rushed movie tie-in whose sole purpose is to cash in on a franchise. Nor is it the annual sports title with its PR rhetoric and snazzy new cover art trying to persuade you that it's more than just a full-priced update to the game that you brought last year. No, Damnation is far more vexing than that - it's the title with the lofty ambitions that is soiled by the... Read more
Yes, the game sucks like friggin crazy, but there is one good thing that fans of gears of war, red faction, and dead space should know about. Whenever you walk over a dead body, it rolls around! I know, not very incredible, but I was pretty entertained by killing one guy than kicking it over a wall and watching it slowly fall down, meanwhile not taking a single hit because all the other enemies were to busy shooting at a wall instead of me. Other than that, the game... Read more
I believe that as usual that codemasters published games as always get a bad rap. Jericho was incredible, bumpmapped and lighting that was no different than doom 3, and Turning point which plays very similar to call of duty and is also good looking and lighting to boot. I have also really enjoyed Fuel and it too bad reviews because its codemasters game. Damnation is not the mitigated disaster as everyone says it is and don't always believe everything you read. Most go in... Read more
A fantastic game, very impressed with the overall gaming, lots of action, jumps/flips going on and a very good story to go along with the play. Graphics are exceptional with at times a bit annoying when you freeze for a second or so, not a big complaint but annoying when you try and move but you carn't but apart from that an excellent game with excellent content. A game to play for sure. Read more
I am awaiting damnation 2 to be released. Would love to play that one as well. Me and my cousin kept playing it for less than a month and finished it with total enjoyment. I hope Damnation 2 releases to the earliest as i hate playing fifa 09. I would refer each and everyone of you to go ahead with it. The second game i liked most after Call of duty is this game. If any of you want any help in this game, you can leave a review here and i will help you in all aspects. Read more
