Pros & Cons

  • attention to detail, the racetracks are fun, great driving model, just plain fun, amazing experience overall
  • no carry, more of a hybrid, damage seems exaggerated, poor storytelling, over car damage

Dirt 2 is the first of the big racing games about to be introduced to our consoles with the others (and perhaps bigger names) such as Gran Turismo 5, PGR5 and Blur all on the Horizon. The advantage that Dirt 2 has is that it is out first, is quite diverse and is also a very good racer (both in looks and execution). Whether you intend to buy these other games or not this title is certainly worth a look in the meantime. Read more

While racing games – especially those of the Xtreme variety – are a dime a dozen nowadays, Dirt 2 features enough modes, extras, and overall dedication to detail that helps it stand above the pack. It may be somewhat lacking in old-school racing challenges, and can prove daunting for newbie racers, but the sheer volume of content far overshadows the game’s faults. Until Gran Turismo 5 arrives to challenge the crown, Dirt 2 stands as king of the racing mountain on... Read more

With recent racers GRID and DiRT, Codemasters have managed to show us two things. One; they have a penchant for irregular upper case letting. And two; they've shown us they really know how to craft a decent racing title. Grid, arguably, has become one of the most popular circuit racers, whilst Colin McRae DiRT took us back into rallying. Does their second iteration in this series sparkle, or is it just dirty? Read more

After purchasing DiRT a few years back, I preordered the sequel as soon as it was announced, and boy did it deliver. DiRT 2 is easily one of the best looking racers/games on the market, and the trailblazer events are some of the most fun i’ve had on a racer. On the down side, i was kinda suprised to see that only about 25% of the races are actually a-b sprints, i wouldve expected more from a mcrae game. Overall a must have game for any fan of rallys Read more

Dirt 2 still lives up to the offroad excitement that first struck me the first day I played it back in September. In todays racing game, there is a fine line between a racing title that is considered arcade or racing sim. Your first race shatters that old cliche with exhilarating graphics, improved car mechanics, and smooth controls that makes you forget that you are even holding a controller. As you jump into the world of offroad racing, takling racing modes such as... Read more

this is one sweet ride !! codemasters knows how to make a racing game. this visuals are very slick. and the controls are pretty much how they should be for a rally game. the point to point time trials would have been nice but perhaps they can as d.l.c. just a thought. Read more

I received the game totally smashed, the box was broken in two and is not worth having with the other games. Since I dont live in America, I couldn't return the game because im leaving in one week. I hope this kind of problems don't happen again, I love new egg but this is a big problem when buying a lot of stuff from you. I hope you send better packages or fix it in some way. Read more
