    A missed chance to address the problems of the original. Battlemarch is simply more of the same thing that didn't really work first time around. Read more

    I'm dancing around the point a little. That's because there is going to be an inevitable split between tabletop players absolutely delighted with the best-ever visual recreation of their game of choice (though possibly also apoplectic about some of the liberties taken with Warhammer rules) and general strategy gamers nonplussed as to why they'd possibly want to play this messy, sometimes broken-feeling thing over the hugely superior (but less aesthetically inventive) ...     There are other niggles such as the typos during some cut-scenes, but Mark Of Chaos’ main crime is being little more than a fair RTS. The few nice touches and good ideas are lost amid the dullness of it all – no matter how hard we tried to get into the spirit of things, the atmosphere was constantly ruined by the journeyman design.     This is an enjoyable, story driven wargame, it does, however, have it's problems and I'd like to highlight these first. 1. The initially released game is a bit buggy, but this was resolved by downloading the latest +300Mb patch. So apart from the normal moan about publishers releasing games before they are properly polished not a problem. 2. The 2 campaigns are a bit short, not yet tried the multiplayer. 3.
